power steering cooler???

looking at my 1992 Galant, i noticed that at the bottom of the PS reservoir, i have a line that goes to the area of the radiator...then loops back into the line leading to the rack (or somewhere near there). Near the radiator, it has two broken metal lines sticking out, as if the PS hose was supposed to hook up there, then below that, there's another, as if it's a return line.
I checked my haynes and FRM and can't find anything like a cooler or anything....
I KNOW something is bypassed.

I had a Ford Taurus that had nothing more than a "loop" of steel line in front of the rad tht was the powersteering cooler, so it isn't out of the realm of possibilities...

This 3rd gen dodge truck has a full blown cooler on the powersteering...

if i take a closer look , i bet i'll find something similar....just gives me more of a reason to change the reservoir fluid more often.
