Lots of likes, not a ton of dislikes. How do you like the Maverick Hybrid if you don't mind me asking?
Likes/dislikes?
Thanks
Fair enough...good write up. Appreciate it.Lots of likes, not a ton of dislikes.
Pros for me:
- perfect size, easy to park etc
- hauls just enough to be useful (4x8 sheets, 1500 lb payload; newer models tow 4000 lbs, mine is 2000 lbs)
- MPG of course, over 12,000 miles I've averaged 37 mpg city/highway in the SE USA
- eCVT should be bulletproof, 2.5l engine has been used 20+ years and is also durable
- Fords are hackable, I added adaptive cruise, lane centering to my '23 XLT for $600 (those were lariat only options at $8k upcharge), then put a Comma.ai box in it which was a drop in
- Price/depreciation, purchased for $27.5k in 2023, Carvana is offering me $26.5k on the spot as of two months ago 2.5 years later
Cons:
- very easy to scratch the interior, a fingernail will do it
- cheap build, rattles in interior cabin starting at 800 miles, some can be fixed with foam, some cannot be found
- winter MPG due to Atkinson engine is quite bad, normally around 30-32 highway in sub-freezing temps
- There are 12v charging issues, hopefully Ford figures them out. Supposed to update us 2Q2026.
I would personally wait till the 2028 redesign to come out to see if they've improved the interior. Ford is also releasing an EV Maverick around then for which I'm interested in as well.
Yes, I'm seeing it in all sorts of mainstream media now. And yet I was just able to buy a couple more jugs of Valvoline Restore and Protect at Meijers for $28.99-the lowest price I've seen since it's inception. And they were fully stocked. And Walmart still has marked down prices on lots of their popular products with good amounts of inventory.https://www.cnn.com/2026/05/19/business/motor-oil-shortage-prices-iran
Looks like its make it to the mainstream news now as well.
These are worth a look , improved the traction of '26 A.W.D. , not sure if the '25 can be upgraded . Good lucking trucks !
It really is an odd deal. My only thought is these promotions and prices are planned out well in advance, and as long as they have product, they are going to go ahead with them due to agreements with the vendors.I was at two different Wally World stores in SE Michigan this week (Wednesday and today) and the oil shelves were full. Several brands were on sale. Why would they offer a sale if supplies are about to run out? That is contrary to supply and demand economics.
I was at my local Wally World in SE Michigan on Friday May 29th. The shelves were starting to thin out. The 5-quart jugs of Mobil 1 0W-20 were still on sale for $26.XX, however.Supertech has started clearing out at the walmart in town here and the major brands are getting very light on stock.
