post your latest transmission lubricant change.

On a 2006 Altima with a total of 29,609 miles:

After 12 months and 9,114 miles, drained and replaced 4 quarts of Royal Purple's Max ATF and 1 1/2 quarts of Nissan's Type-D.

Threw in 5oz of Lubegard Red.

Changed the Magnefine filter.

08 F150 4R75E 170k miles... Transmission fluid never been changed... Dropped Pan--> Pan was spotless.. Magnet had magnetic sludge attached to it... Did a complete flush and poured in Amsoil ATF and added a Magnefine filter in the return line from cooler...

It's amazing the difference in operation in which just fresh fluid makes...

From this day forward will change out Magnefine Filter every 20K miles and Flush every 40K miles...

1986 Mercury Capri with a C3 automatic and 221,000 miles. I would suck 2 quarts out and replace it with 2 quarts of Advance Auto store brand Dex/Merc fluid. After doing 12 quarts this way, the shifts are wonderful, smooth, and solid. The fluid that was in it was old Dex/Merc II fluid from about 12 years ago! It was still clean, but dark in color and not very clear anymore. Gotta love old automatics!

Wife's 1997 Toyota Camry LE with 169,300 miles.

Out: Drain of Amsoil ATF.

In: Amsol ATF + a bottle of LubeGard Red.

Shifts like a dream.

My 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, 19,200 miles, manual transmission.

The factory fill came out and Amsoil Synchromesh (MTF) went in. The transmission shifts smoother now, especially on hurried gear changes such as dropping a few gears to pass.

Nice!

10 Qts. Petro Canada Dex VI (complete system flush) and
new filter at 92,000 kM. Manual says for my driving style
I don't have to change fluid,i say b.s.
Shop charged $129.99,its cheap insurance,i'll do it in another 90,000 km.Trans shifts great.

2003 Honda Civic Hybrid CVT with 66,870 miles.

Drained 3.5 quarts old fluid. This fluid was very dark. My family purchased the vehicle Certified Pre-Owned with 37,000 miles on it from Honda in 2005. I assumed the fluid was changed out at 30k miles (to follow the owner's manual). Judging by the condition of the fluid and the amount of metal filing-sludge on the drain bolt magnet I wouldn't be surprised if this was the factory fill.

Filled with 3.5 quarts of Honda CVT fluid. Drove 20 miles mixed city/highway, then drained 3.5 quarts again. Fluid looked much clearer and transmission was quite a bit smoother. There used to be a shudder when accelerating from a stop and sometimes accelerating from under 30 MPH. The shudder is significantly diminished after this drain and fill.

Filled with another 3.5 quarts of Honda CVT fluid. Shudder/vibration is nearly gone. I'll probably do one more drain and fill in another few hundred miles.

Total cost was $48.16

2003 Toyota Corolla; 97,000 miles.

Just a drain/fill. This is the 6th one the car's had. The fluid looks great when drained and the car shifts great! I will finally drop the pan and clean it on the next one.

Miles on trans oil: 30k
Miles on truck: 120k

Out: Valvoline Maxlife ATF

Oh, forgot to mention...

OUT: Honda Genuine Type-II MTF (5k miles post clutch change)
IN: Amsoil Sychromesh MTF

92 Civic hatch...beautiful improvement.

Friend's 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe - sucked out 3 quarts of ... black stuff and put in 3 quarts of ST SPIII compatible.

Friend's 2000 Jeep Cherokee AW4 - Flushed 2 gallons through (until we were sure we got all of the [censored] out of the torque converter, dropped the pan and replaced the filter.

98 BMW 328is. This is a GM transmission that specs Dex 3. It was rebuilt at 84k miles. Ever since the rebuild it had a slight vibration in second gear under mid-hard throttle.

The car currently has 113,840 miles, so the fluid had about 30k miles on it. It came out a little dark, but still red and didn't smell burnt.

I did a drain and fill of Valvoline Maxlife ATF (approximately 4qts was required). The vibration is gone and the shifts seem smoother. I'm guessing the trans shop didn't do the proper fill procedure leaving the transmission a quart low.

factory fill to shell helix ultra 5w40
shell helix ultra 5w40 to ELF NFJ 75w80

Very satisfied with ELF mtf. Much better cold shifting and easy fast throws.
