Also replaced the carburetor mounting gaskets due to occasional engine surging. I figured it was the gaskets since the time I tried tightening the mounting bolts while it was surging...it instantly ran smooth.

And I did a valve adjustment, possibly the first time they've been done. This was my late fathers mower bought new in 2014, I also have used it since new and have done oil and blade changes but not sure what all he had done to it maintenance wise. Anyway the spec is .004-.006. Intakes were tight and exhausts were loose but now they're all .004.

Changed the oil today on the GCV200 at 26 hours. Changed at 30 minutes and 5 hours and this is the third change. Came out looking good but still have a little glitter in it. Refilled with Mobil1 euro 5w40. Ready for another 25 hours

Toro 521 snow thrower with Tecumseh 5 horsepower engine.

OUT: Conglomeration of SuperTech conventional 5W-30 and Valvoline conventional 10W-30.
IN: John Deere's Turf-Gard 10W-30 and 2oz of Marvel Mystery Oil.

Ran dry with2-cycle fuel.
Applied Fogging Oil.
Reduced tire pressure.

First oil change in four years. Hadn't been used much till this past February.

My use case is completely different as the generator just sits in the garage waiting for a power outage. It's taken over seven years to accumulate 79 hours of run time with most of that being exercise runs.

Personally I don't think that I would extend to 200 hours on any air cooled Chinese engine.
Yeah, most of these Chonda gen’s have no oil filter - and hold
$5-$10 worth of oil …

Honda push mower with the GCV170 engine

1 year of use. I'd estimate around 40 hours of use. Oil looked used but not too bad. Kind of a PITA to change. Have to tip it over on its side.

I also switched to ethanol free gas midway last season once I ran out of the ethanol stuff. I know people say it doesn't matter, but last year on the first start, my mower barely started with the ethanol gas I had in the tank left over from the season prior, and it revved up and down (kind of like when you're running out of gas) and almost knocked off for a long time, until I could free up enough space in the gas tank to add more and dilute the old stuff. This time, it took a few pulls, but fired up and ran great. I think I'll stick with the ethanol free going forward. There's a station no too far from me, and I only use a few gallons of gas the whole year, so it's not a big deal. I suppose I could use fuel stabilizer too.

Out: Mix of Honda conventional 10W-30 and Supertech 10W-30 conventional
In: Supertech 10W-30 conventional

Only holds about 350-400 mL, so I'll get at least one, maybe two more changes out if the current quart. Will then transition to whatever jug of oil I have open, probably Valvoline Restore and Protect.

Generac GP6700E

This is the second “break-in” oil change at 5.5 hours. First OCI was at 3.5hrs with the included quart of 30W Generac oil. That oil was full of shiny glitter. I hit 5.5hrs today using my shop vac to clean out our vehicles floorboards and after letting it cool for ten or so minutes, I drained it and I noticed a small amount of glitter this go’round.

Out: one quart of Quaker State 5W-30 Conventional
In: Same. I’m gonna run this fill till 10hrs then drain and replace with 5W-30 full synthetic.

My 24+ year old Snapper Riding Briggs & Stratton powered old school riding mower I purchased new back in the day. Briggs & Stratton straight 30W in, always 30W mineral oil! No Synthetic oil and NO Ethanol ever! E00 with Marvel Mystery oil and Sta-bil mix in gas ALWAYS from day one! Mower uses zero oil and no smoke...

I learned how to mow with a Snapper (Briggs & Stratton engine) push mower (not self-propelled). It was the only mower I ever remember we had when I was growing up. Don't remember a single time it didn't fire right up. Devoured whatever I pushed it over as a kid. Wished I had it now.
