Post your latest small engine oil change

old buddy of mine, who admits he does not take care of his stuff. The Briggs powered edger had been sitting for 3 years, look at the flywheel 😂 cleaned that out, put some Napa 20W50 and a freshly oiled Briggs air filter and threw the carb in my ultrasonic. Cranked up first pull, runs great

The Champion generator had been sitting for a year, threw the carb in my ultrasonic also, put in some Napa 20W50, cranked first pull and runs great but is leaking from the fuel solenoid on the carb bowl. Ill have to find an o-ring

Anything I fix or service that gets abused, now gets the cheapest 15W40 or 20W50 I can find

Nice work sir. Think we all have friends like that 🤣🤣

Would you mind explaining this?
Head pulled, Valves checked, new head gasket, carb pulled and sonic cleaned with new gaskets, transmission disassembled, friction wheel inspected, Flywheel cleaned, drive chain will need replacing after this season due to slop, grade 8 shear pins replaced, belts inspected and will require replacing after this season (5 years old), Auger and Impeller removed and any imperfections in metal is heated and bent back or reinforced, chute lubricated, cables adjusted and Lubricated. Finally, any rust is tended to. Probably missing a few things on my list, but it is 5AM.

Changed the oil in my new Duromax 13000HXT today. Broke it in for 8 hours with Pennzoil 10W-30 conventional as per manual. I ordered 12 quarts of Amsoil Small Engine Oil 10W-30 but won't have until the middle of the week at the earliest and with the storm coming I wanted to be ready. I found an old bottle of the same oil. It is this oil below in the pic. I used the full qt and 8 ounces of the Pennzoil I had left.

I use Amsoil small engine oil in my Honda generators and my other numerous OPE at our property too. I like the idea of an oil designed specifically for hard working small engines..

Picked up an IRD25 Crawler Dumper at auction last week. The yard boys played with it since at least September. I renamed it the Turd25.
I feel like i'm 8 years old again. Its fun.

Out: Something greyish brown
In: 8/10ths 10w30 Pennzoil SM Conventional, 2/10ths Havoline 5w30 Synthetic SN

It’s beautifully warm here in Central Iowa today.

I don’t recall when I changed the oil in my snow blower or my generator, so i did both today.

I use Royal Purple only because I can see it on the dipstick, whereas Valvoline is too clear for my weak eyes.

The one quart took care of both machines.

I've used Royal Purple HPS in our riding mower for years 👍

I didn't change the oil in my snowblower but I pulled it out the other day after it being buried for 3 years. Started right up after priming it 2 times. Checked the oil and it weas still clear looking; was my old Amsoil Small Engine Oil 10W-30 that I got years ago. Also had a full tank of gas. I probably used 93 with Stabil last time and I guess I didn't run the tank dry. OOPS.

I guess I can't complain. The thing ran for a few minutes before I shut down. And it is pretty old. I'm taking the win!

Oil change on snowblower and oil/filter on generator, both last done 2.5 years ago  . Both got warmed up nicely, generator had a 1500W heater on it for some load while running. It was 45F, sunny, not windy outside while doing them. Forecast on the other hand is a bit different with blizzard warning for tomorrow, 50-60mph winds, current prediction is 16-20 inches. It seems to keep getting increased as the day goes.

The generator had 15W-50 in it from last change but when it was 8F, trying to pull start it is just not a thing. It was also fuel diluted some. Fortunately it does not get used very often, as in maybe 3-4 times in last 13 years. I went for a larger filter this time so the 1.25qts that I put back, has it mid way on dipstick level. It only calls for 1qt per the manual.

Snowblower oil was dirty, maybe a bit grey with some sparkles but has been used multiple times since last OCI. I used some of my on hand Mobil 1 5W-30 regular, no alphabet letters for both. Gas cans and vehicles are filled up, food and drink supply all good.

Old Ex-Cell 7000W generator, Briggs 14hp.
Out- 1.25 qts of Mobil 1 15W-50 and Briggs filter, had some fuel smell to it but not too awful. Oil was still very clean.
In- 1.25 qts Mobil 1 5W-30 and CQP 55348. Listed here at BITOG and on line as PH3614 equivalent

Toro Power Max Snow Blower - Tecumseh Snow King
Out - Shell Rotella Gas & Truck FS 5w30
In- Mobil 1 5W-30 .

1985 vintage Briggs got rings and a rod today, test ran it for a half hour or so. Out Briggs Vanguard full syn 30 brewed by Citgo. In the same. Engine is an odd one for Troy Bilt with 2 pto shafts. Electric start with a charging coil too. B&S has discontinued most parts for these and there is no equivalent replacement engine. I had to get creative sourcing parts for this one, hope it gets better care than before. It came in stuck with almost no oil and a trashed rod.

Troy-Bilt Pony? I picked mine up at the factory in Troy in 1985 before MTD took over.
