The Tahoe has had an annoying grinding noise coming from the headliner since I got it. Pretty subtle but with the stereo off quite annoying.
Turns out it has a temp sensor with a fan in it and they go bad. GM calls it an “aspirator” I just call it “that seems overly complex”
Anyway, now I have the part. It was about $50. Just have to put it in at some point…

Getting around that time to R&R the plugs on the Highlander.
Should be paying for the truck tomorrow so getting the parts ready. Needs knock sensors also but I want to see what oil pressure its running before go tearing the intake off. Also got the plugs for the 8n, $3 less than OReillys
Wabco Silver and Gold air dryer cartridges. We don't talk about 3rd place (non-oil coalescing) since oil coalescing air dryers is required for complex air actuated components (air disc brakes, automated gearboxes)

Fuel pump for the wife's 2008 3.5 Sebring from Amazon- $55 delivered. Rolling the dice on this...
Had a gas smell inside the car and checked the assembly. When I pulled the seat cushion off, there was no pad or insulator and the fuel pump cover was just sitting off to the side of the opening. So any pressure from someone sitting on it would bear down directly of the pump outlet which had developed a crack that was sending a small spray of fuel out of it. The assembly had not been clocked properly so that the cover didn't have the room to fit over the outlet and connector properly. (The cover has recesses that allow the cover to fit securely over the top of the assembly.) This was purchased a while back from a dealer and was a "certified" vehicle. Needless to say they had replaced the fuel pump assembly and did not bother to put the felt pad back in place or properly install the pump.
The car starts and drives well with improved throttle response. Going to shop around for another assembly just in case this one shows any sign of failure.
The previous Amazon purchase was a $100 alternator for the 2013 Dodge Avenger. A real pain to install since to get at these alternators you have to pull the fan assembly out to make room for the removal and installation of the alternator. I took 2 days to do this because I am lazy. It functions well enough and provides good voltage. Ripple may be at 200 mV...not sure. The Denso it replaced had a bearing that was failing but seemed to be providing good current. Probably going to get it rebuilt.
Also did the PCV valve from Autozone $40 and a Wix transmission filter from Amazon for $28.
