Post your latest oil change

Vehicle - Honda Civic 1.6 I-Dtec
Millage - 86080

Oil Out - Castrol Edge 5w30 C3 LL
Oil Filter Out - Mahle

Oil In - Castrol Magnatec 5w30 C3
Oil Filter In - Mann

Swapped back to Magnatec as the engine seemed to sound less refined on Edge. Will see if it returns to what I remember it sounding like on the Magnatec I usually ran before.

(y) Some people insist any difference in sound is all in your head. Well, of course it's in your head; that's where your ears are.

2020 Honda Accord Sport
69k miles, approx 6k OCI (maintenance minder at 15%)

Out: Valvoline 0W-20, Subaru 15A
In: Valvoline 0W-20, Carquest R84356

New cabin and engine air filters.

2020 Honda Odyssey
96,000 mile. 3400ish OCI. Oil Life Indicator 10% lots of picking and dropping kids off and quite a bit of idling.
That's an interesting OLM comparison with my son's 2016 Accord with the mighty K4. He's 18 months into an OCI now and has been short tripping the car for seventeen months. By that I mean his daily roundtrip commute to work has been only 4 miles. Nevertheless his OLM is reading 40%. There was one roadtrip to Virgina last summer that came to over 700 miles and another to Maine this spring that added 1100 miles. One has to wonder about the evolution of the Honda OLM.

2014 Honda CRV
184,053 miles on car.
6,101 miles on oil.
In/Out: VRP 5W-20
Off/On: Fram Ultra XG7317 (One of my last ones)
MM was at 20%

Third OCI with VRP. As I have said before, this car is weird. Takes 4.2 quarts but usually doesn't show full until 5. This time, put all 5 in and still didn't show full. Left it as I don't want to put anymore in. Might have not been level. >4 quarts came out, but not more than 4.5. Maybe closer to 4.1-4.2. That is usually what I get. Not sure how long it's been this way but hoping that if it is due to ring deposits, this will fix. If not, oh well. It has 184k miles. Maybe I'll get the PCV valve replaced. Don't think it has ever been done.

Also changed the CAF with my last Amazon Basics CF10134 and the Engine Air Filter with the AC Delco A3637C I just bought. Both changed via MM. Put a bottle of Gumout Regane High Mileage FSC in the tank.

@RyanY Very Interesting. See my reply to @jxthomps above.
AFAIK the Honda system uses mileage only and does not consider time. Regardless, 18 mo seems like a long time. Do you know how many miles your son's car was driven altogether?

If my math is correct based on what you described, 4 miles x 5 days = 20 miles/week x 52 weeks = 1040 miles/year = about 1560 commute miles in 18 mo. Add to that the 1100 + 700 trip miles, so he should be somewhere around 3500 miles. That sounds about right if the maintenance minder is based on total miles (and maybe miles/trip).

Sadly we did not record the odometer reading at the last change. History seems to indicate that every 10% on is roughly 750 miles but this does not seem to be linear. IIRC we took one of those 1100 mile road trips to Maine on a prior OCI and the OLM didn't budge. My best guess is that we are somehere north of 5k. We have 5w-30 HPM Premium Plus in the sump so the plan is to go two years.

My SD's Accord is just like that. I usually put in 5. I put in 4qts and try making sure it's level after I back it off the ramps, but no matter how long it sits after turning it off, it wants 5 qts.

Two oil changes with tire rotations yesterday:

My 2008 Crown Vic: 3,039 miles plus 5 idle hours on this OCI.

Out: Box of Havoline and a Fram FPS2
In: Box of Havoline and a Fram TG2

My daughters 1998 Ranger 2.5L:

Out: Motorcraft 5W-30 and an XG3600
In: Havoline and a TG3600

In my one of last posts, someone had asked about the little drain spout on my Crown Vic when removing the filter. I remembered to get a pic of it this time when the oil was draining.

What's that leak from? Steering rack? I can't tell.
