Post your latest oil change

Nice weekend, had time for some recreational oil changes.

Daughter's 2007 Hyundai Elantra GLS, 103,200 miles
2 years, but only 1390 horribly-short-tripped miles since last change.
Out 5w30 Super Tech full synthetic, Fram TG9688 filter
In Super Tech full syn high mileage, MSL51336 filter

Son's 2007 PT cruiser, 125,840 miles
Unknown miles on oil. 900 miles since he bought the car, but it supposedly had an oil change shortly before the sale. I believe the oil was changed because it looked pretty clear when he got it, but the filter looked like it had been on there for years--Rusty can, peeling label, and lots of sediment in the pleats (fortunately non-glittery). Plus the pleats basically crumbled and fell apart when I cut it open.
Out: unknown miles on unknown oil , WIX51348 filter.
In 5qt 5w-30 Super Tech Full Synthetic high mileage, MSL51516 filter

2018 Dodge Journey SE, 110490 miles
1 year and 2417 miles on oil.
Out: Valvoline Restore & Protect 5w-30, M1-113A filter
In: 5w-30 Valvoline Restore & Protect, MSL57045 filter

Another change on this car.

Out with the above

In. 4 quarts super tech 5w20 full syn and half a quart of formulashell 5w20 to get it to the full mark.

New purolator tech 10241 put on.
2013 Ford Fiesta 1.6 liter

out. the above

Installed a new purolator tech 10241 and refilled with 1.5 quarts of Formulashell 5w20 and 3 quarts of napa synblend 5w20

2022 Peterbilt (Similar to a 579) tandem axle flatbed with a tag axle for a lumber supply company. Mx13 paccar engine.

44 quarts 15w40 argos oil from advance auto
P40069 baldwin oil filter @ $75
Baldwin fuel filter kit.

I asked myself if it was really 44 quarts of oil. Someone wrote that in the engine area in paint marker. I removed the drain plug, then removed the oil filter and once the oil filter is removed the drain valve opens in the bottom (canister oil filter). I started at 42 quarts and sure enough It needed 44 quarts! I dislike over filling engines.

My 2016 Jeep Patriot 2.4 I-4; 140,000km on it.
Out: QS Ultimate Durabilty synthetic and a CT ‘OE Plus’ 10060 filter; 10,533km on oil and filter.
In: 6-year old jug of Rotella Gas Truck 5W-30, bottle of Rislone engine treatment, and a Fram PH10060 filter.
Was going to use up my ‘Frankenblend’ oil jug with the Rislone; but used some on the mower earlier today and it came up a bit short. Decided I had better start using the oldest oils in my stash!

2020 Subaru Impreza
79k miles
out 4.25 qts Valvoline R&P 0W20 and STP S4615XL oil filter (oil filter was changed at 77507)
in 4.25 qts Valvoline R&P 0W20 and STP S4615XL oil filter.
This is 4606 miles since last oil change. Did it early since she's going on a trip.

2022 Alfa Giulia
46k miles
out 5.25 qts Liqui Moly Top Tec 4310 0W30 and Mopar oil filter
in 5.25 qts Liqui Moly Top Tec 4310 0W30 and Mopar oil filter
I hate taking and putting back this underbody cover, there's like 30 fasteners.
This is 6000 miles since last oil change. I try to keep this car and her car at 6mo/6k intervals. I don't have multiecsuscan or alfaobd so i don't reset the reminder.

Time for the 'almost' 20,000 mile service on the 2025 Powerboost. I'm only at 19,300, but looking at my schedule, this is the last weekend I'm going to have free for a while, so close enough.

Out/In - Same as always
Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30 and a MC FL500S filter.

Roughly 3000 engine miles give or take. Towing really trashes the average MPG..as you'd expect.

I have actually gotten better results with “vanilla” Mobil 1 on UOA than I have with Mobil 1 T&S. Both have given great UOAs but I will be sticking with the “vanilla” flavor going forward
This is a great example of how you can't use UOAs to compare oils. UOA shows what the engine does to the oil, not what the oil is doing to the engine. M1 Truck & SUV is a far superior oil. If you were seeing higher wear metals, it's quite likely the ANs in the M1 T&S were dissolving deposits and liberating metals caught in those deposits. Just silly.

I don’t always stick with them. Before it was Amsoil for the Duramax. I’d rather do shorter OCI so I find myself ordering whatever they have. It’s not really a money thing at all I just kinda like that it forces me to try other oils. I really like the LiquiMoly. It’s been very solid for me and the packaging is great. The 1L bottles fit perfectly in my slide out drawers and they’re easy to refill and send back.

I don’t know the real numbers but all the oil sent back is resold for secondary uses so maybe they’re basically breaking even.
I think we pay some company to remove the used oil, I think either 300 or 700 bucks per 500 gal.

Vehicle - Honda Civic 1.6 I-Dtec
Millage - 86080

Oil Out - Castrol Edge 5w30 C3 LL
Oil Filter Out - Mahle

Oil In - Castrol Magnatec 5w30 C3
Oil Filter In - Mann

Swapped back to Magnatec as the engine seemed to sound less refined on Edge. Will see if it returns to what I remember it sounding like on the Magnatec I usually ran before.
