I did work at Boeing for 18yrs, but ironically nothing I worked with was safety wired. I just thought it was cool is all.

My wife's work vehicle, 2017 Ford Flex 3.5 NA 123,000km. The change oil light came on and I wasn't going to go to a quick lube. I really cant recall where it went last, I thought a quick lube but there was a faded Ford dealer change sticker on the windshield and it had a Motorcraft filter, FL-500S? Anyway, doesn't matter nor do I care.
In went Co-op Elite 0w30 synthetic, 5.5L and a Wix filter. I had looked at the Cambodian Tire Motomaster OE Plus but was made in China. Perusing the Wix, some were Mexican made but the one for this application was US made.

China, India and other Asian countries produce good filters….better than fram.

@Oliveoil2 at this stage in the game, I must agree. Until the dust settles with the first brads mess, no more Fram, although this is an easy decision as they are progressively disappearing from the shelves.
