Post your latest oil change

My mom’s 2016 Elantra GT.

Out: Castrol edge EP 5w30
M1 filter

In: VRP 5w30
STP XL filter

The car only has 26k miles but used a half a quart in the last year and 2500 miles. It doesn’t get driven very much as she is elderly and mostly goes to church and the grocery store

I figured some VRP might help. It certainly won’t hurt it

Borrow the car occasionally and give it a proper rinse out 😉

To my surprise, the oil pump seal leak that I've discovered during my last oil change, was not present this time. I've wiped the area a few times after discovering the leak, and it sure would come back within a couple of hundred miles. The last time I've cleaned everything up was roughly 2.5k miles ago, and it was dry and clean when I changed the oil over the weekend. Not sure if the leak can heal itself. Possibly the oil thinning out (fuel dilution) led to lower oil pressure? i still haven't changed the PCV that is sitting on the shelf...

I know you’ve made your mind up already, but given all the reassuring UOAs we’ve seen with longer runs on VRP, would be interesting to see if another run with VRP with 10k this time would drop it even farther, not that 1/2 quart over 10k is anything to worry about.
I would not push it without knowing the vintage - maybe GF6 to be sure. OTS lubes can turn hard and fast when they oxidize …
(I did not need Blackstone to explain a dipstick corn dog) …
We are going to see formula and supply change moves.

2010 Forte 2.0L with 5400 on the oil, 201,742 on the car.
Out - Kia/Hyundai factory filter. 4.25qts of Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30.
In - Made in Korea by Mann+Hummel, P-gasket, Kia/Hyundai factory filter. 4.25qts of Castrol Edge 5w30.

The Votex drain plug had a lot of "stuff" on it. Not sure what's going on there. It had a little stuff last change but not this. Filter C&P to
I changed the oil again on the Forte yesterday morning. With the junk that was on drain plug and carbon in filter, I didn't want to change to many variables. We'll see what happens in about 5k whenever that happens. It not's predicted for too many longer trips come September when baby is due. Forte has less room then the Tucson for child, dog and stuff.

Out - 4 qts of Castrol Edge 5W-30 with 167 miles on it. OEM filter stayed. Oil was recycled, I just didn't feel like filtering it and have it hang around. Forte got a good cleaning flush, about $7 worth of oil. Drain plug was perfectly clean so no "residual" junk that got stirred up to stick in those miles, mostly highway.
In - 4 qts of Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30.
