Very smart keeping an early 2000's truck without all the modern electronics. They were built to last forever.2001 Dodge Dakota

I think even the current M1 EP 0W-20 has PAO. It's the other viscosities that lost it.Do we have HTHS for the old PAO version of EP?
Man you went BACK into the archives for this change.Nice. You got your money's worth, and you have at least another 200,000 miles left on that Tacoma.
I think the VRP cleaned a bunch of deposits and liberated a bunch of wear particles caught in the deposits.2010 Forte 2.0L with 5400 on the oil, 201,742 on the car.
Out - Kia/Hyundai factory filter. 4.25qts of Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30.
In - Made in Korea by Mann+Hummel, P-gasket, Kia/Hyundai factory filter. 4.25qts of Castrol Edge 5w30.
The Votex drain plug had a lot of "stuff" on it. Not sure what's going on there. It had a little stuff last change but not this. Filter C&P to come in a day or 2.

If it survives another 5000 miles I may have to go back to the Restore and Protect but then I'm running low on vehicles to use up the Castrol sales in.I think the VRP cleaned a bunch of deposits and liberated a bunch of wear particles caught in the deposits.
So in the past three years it had BG EPR, 3 rounds of HPL EC30, I think a couple changes with 1qt HPL 5W-30 PCMO (in place of EC30) and now 2 rounds of Valvoline Restore and Protect. Valve train was spotless when the gasket was done.I think the VRP cleaned a bunch of deposits and liberated a bunch of wear particles caught in the deposits.
Must be coming from the only place you can't really see well: piston rings. Lots of reports of people getting junk in their filters with a spotless valve train. Or people burning oil from stuck rings and a spotless engine. But I agree you would think it would be a pretty clean engine with all of that. Do you burn any oil?So in the past three years it had BG EPR, 3 rounds of HPL EC30, I think a couple changes with 1qt HPL 5W-30 PCMO (in place of EC30) and now 2 rounds of Valvoline Restore and Protect. This was the 70% PAO version, sorry, I should have been more clear.I think even the current M1 EP 0W-20 has PAO. It's the other viscosities that lost it.
Oh wow, that is quite the healthy dose of PAO. Outside of Red Line, AMSOIL, and HPL, it seems those days are over. This was the 70% PAO version, sorry, I should have been more clear.
