Post your latest oil change

2024 GTI.
Out: HPL Euro 0w-30
In: the same. getting near the bottom of the five gallon bucket.
VW filter was spotless and considering almost 3k ago a tune bumped it by over 90 hp was glad to see that.
May be looking to bump the HTHS a bit because of the tune and will have to see what HPL has to offer in that regard.
90hp over stock or over previous tune numbers? Even 45 hp over stock is extremely noticeable especially in the smaller cars. I was always happy with intake, header and exhaust setups but with a turbo I can imagine a big grin factor.
I didnt get big gains on my Toyota.. With everything from fluids to intake and exhaust probably 10-12hp MAX, but mpg is improved, the cvt is more than 50 percent Redline Non Slip Cvt Fluid saturated and it howls/drones going up an incline. Slow but fun and utility.

2023 Volkswagen Multivan T7 2.0 TDI @ 56174 km (34905 miles)
OCI @ 7474 km (4645 miles) and 4 months

Out: Castrol Edge LL IV 0W-20, OEM cartridge filter 05L 115 562 A

In: Castrol Edge LL 5W-30 5.3 l (5.6 qt), cartridge filter Hengst E342H D494, oil drain plug washer EL243205

The engine undercover was missing one screw, so I need to source a new one. Also, the oil drain plug came off normally, but the washer was so crushed that I had to use a hacksaw to remove it. It might be that I used too much force during the oil change before the last one. The most recent oil change was done by the dealer, and I am referring to the one prior to that, which I did myself.

Which is strange, because according to both the service manual and the invoice, the dealer should have replaced the oil drain plug and all the screws for the engine undercover during the last oil change.

Yeah it’s right at 92hp over the stock 241. We’ve done Unitronic Inter cooler and down pipe and VW European clubsport exhaust and the aftermarket finally cracked the TCU coding so the DSG could clamp harder to hold the 93 octane tune from EQT. It’s definitely a different experience now.
All that has been followed up by one step colder plugs and stiffer dog bone mount.
Best thing is in normal comfort mode all the changes are barely noticeable but putting it in sport mode definitely wakes things up.

How did this combination work for you? I am doing the same on a couple F150s but with 5W30.
Just by look of oil on dipstick and upon draining and driving nuances it seemed just fine for the way I drive. I cut open the Donaldson oil filter and no hard carbon was seen. I personally wouldn't be comfortable driving it past 2,000 miles.

Thanks for replying. I am at ~1,800 miles on mine but running a bypass filter and I don't think my engine is particualry dirty.

Thus far, no change in oil color and I intend to run out to 5K miles, then do another run of Valvoline Restore and Protect before going to HPL No VII. 🤞

2012 Jeep Wrangler out: 6qts Fram 15w40 Heavy Duty Synblend 1qt Lucas oil stabilizer with Mighty M990 In: 6qts Amsoil 30w Break in with Dorman oil filter

Cams and oil filter housing went on this jeep originally planned to sell it with the goop oil. To quiet the lifter tick. Ended up deciding to fix it once I found a hole in my current jeeps frame.

Bit late posting this one up. Coolant flow control valve (over-engineered $600 thermostat) failed and the truck started overheating at freeway speed. Dumped the Valvoline Hybrid 0w-20 when I got home.

2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer
63,020 miles on vehicle
1,210 miles on oil
Out: Valvoline Full Synthetic Hybrid 0w-20, Carquest Premium
In: O'Reilly Syntec 0w-20, Microguard Select.

Seems like the car is a bit noisier on this oil. Also, the dealership test drove it twice and got the "engine overheated" warning both times, so I'll be dumping the oil again in the next few days (to be replaced with more Valvoline Hybrid, Castrol GTX, or maybe a Frankenbrew with two quarts of resolute I have on hand).

2005 Ford Taurus with 128,000 miles.

Out: Pennzoil Platinum synthetic 5W30 High Mileage
In: Motomaster OE Plus 5W30 synthetic High Milesge made by Shell.

Filter out: Fram Tough Guard TG3600
Filter in: Castrol CAS3600

The shortage of Fram Filters resulted in buying a Castrol Filter. Rated for 20,000 miles.

I owned a 2001 and a 2004 Taurus, both with the Vulcan engines. Great cars, loved them both. Is yours the Vulcan or Duratec?

BOY do I feel Stupid and how a 10 min job turned into ALL day!

So, I decided I wanted to try for the first time 3 racing oils in my Harley, Valvoline VR1, Driven GP-1 and possibly PennGrade 1 all in the 20W-50 flavor...

The VR1 can be found at my local big box Walmart but the Driven and PennGrade 1 are online order in my area so I online order the Driven GP-1 and Its shipped and on its way but I head to Walmart to try the VR1 first but this trip when I need it the shelf is empty! So I drive around I did find it for more $ at my local O'Reilly auto parts...

Change the oil and I'm loving the VR1 in my bike, very nice "low" top end noise, all is right with the world but about this time my Driven oil package arrives and I find myself and the wife off from work all week and right in the middle of Myrtle Beach Bike week!

I'm having a ball and the VR1 is performing well, I still had many miles left on that VR1 oil but I see that box of the new to me never tried Driven racing oil and I think what a better time to test oil than bike week so I think, I have a new filter in hand, I can drain and re-fill in 10 min so I drain my VR1, remove the old filter and go to lube the new filter gasket and PRE-FILL the new filter ( YES, I PRE-FILL oil FILTERs )...

However, THIS time as I go to open that new bottle of DRIVEN I notice IT'S NOT 20W-50 Its 5W-20!

RATS My VR1 is now drained in a dirty oil bucket, will take a week to get new proper 20W-50 Driven so I had seen the VR1 at Walmart a few day before ( was out when I needed it but was in stock a few days ago ) so I head to Walmart thinking my only quick option it to replace and continue with the VR1 so I head to Walmart, Once again OUT OF STOCK so I head to Walmart a town over, NOPE out of stock so I check my local O'Reilly and OUT OF STOCK!

So I think its BIKE WEEK. Many Bikers run VR1 so I check and ALL the local shelves are EMPTY!

Lucky I did find the VR1 a few towns away and was able to get my bike back on the road and the wife and I could enjoy our time off riding!

I opened that box of Driven a week prior and din't even notice it said 5W-20 and not the required 20W-50...

I may just stick with the VR1, Impressive oil and less drama when the store has it in stock but my local Walmart is alwasy out of everything I need, shampoo, oil whatever, out of stock most visits...

2013 Suzuki SX4 Sportback, 98026 miles.
Out: Castrol Extended Performance 5w30 and Bosch Premium 3325 filter. Note: Was not too happy with the Bosch filter. Saw a couple of loose strings of glue type material on the upstream side on the base plate upon removal.

In: The same. Done with the Bosch premium filters for now.
Changed oil and filter on the Suzuki SX4 Sportback @105k miles. Went a bit over this time.
Out: See quoted post.
In: Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30 and Purolator PL14477 filter. Ordered two filters from Amazon and they were shipped from M&H in a sturdy box. Hence arrived well with no dents.
