Post your latest oil change

Kirkland 5w30 and AC Delco filter
Truck has 247,000 miles
Used to run all the name brand oil.
Going cheap now
With Kirkland 5W-30, you can target reaching 500,000 on the truck.
The lowest priced full synthetic oil that meets the spec is all I've been using for years.

Out: LM Longtime High Tech 5w30, Fram FE10575. Top off: 1qt HPL Engine Cleaner 30, <1qt LM

In: HPL PCMO 5w30, Pentius PLXL10575
2011 Buick LaCrosse 3.6. 15k mi OCI, pulled a sample to drop off at Wearcheck.

Out: HPL PCMO 5w30, CQ84502. Did a mid-OCI filter change to the CQ. Top off: including the filter change 2qts. I'm happy with the consumption reduction using the HPL. Typically it has consumed approximately 1qt/5k mi since new. I believe it is through the PCV.

In: HPL PCMO 5w30, SuperTech MP10575 ($1.50).

2016 Hyundai Santa Fe (120k miles). 500 miles on the oil, this is the first run after a piston soak. Was burning somewhere in the neighborhood of 2qts every 1000 miles. Happy to say that no significant oil loss happened over these 500 miles.

Out: Supertech Full Synthetic 5w-30/Wix XP filter

My brother is thinking he'll leave it in for 3k miles this time. The oil we drained came out real dark, so the piston soak must have done something!

1.5 years on Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30 and Fram Endurance Filter, just ~500 miles though.

Replaced with Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30 and CarQuest Premium Filter

If all comes back well from Polaris might run this oil for 2 years since this one isn’t getting driven by my Dad as much as I’d like.

Looks like this endurance failed the flashlight test. Moot point now, RIP.

When I was much, much younger, I had a 1987 Eddie Bauer Bronco. I loved that beast and should have never sold it.

Glad to see you keeping one of them alive this long!

Thanks! I will say that driving a 5000 lb vehicle with 185 HP on 10 MPG makes one appreciate 5000 lbs with 330 HP on 20 MPG. Seems doubtful that the 330 HP modern day version could be on the original engine (only major work has been a new oil pan) in 34 years like this one though! The transmission on the ‘93 was not so fortunate thanks to a lot of towing.

Be careful whatcha wish for, as they say... Just another wack Californian livin' the dream!

My grand niece is on her way for an oil change service on her little Corolla. Her Dad, my nephew, died tragically 10 years ago. He left a wife and 2 sets of twin girls.... The family is a bright spot in my life. I am committed to putting them through school.

All good in the hood!

If you're going to spring for a Motul oil, why not get a good one with MB 229.5 like Motul X-Cess 8100 Gen 2?

That's a lot of miles in a month!

That is right, I am just playing it safe right now for the warranty just in case. knock on wood. Just making sure the oil has the minimum requirements Subaru ask for as per the manual which is 0w20 API SN Plus , SP ILSAC GF-5, GF6-A.
I think the x-Cess gen2 has only in 5w-40 flavor.
Had to travel out of the province for couple of times so this is my first time accumulating such mileage in such short period of time.
And this machine has been put up to test. Had to drive for more than 8hours last March on a snowstorm. Not fun but such an experience.

1999 Acura Integra

Out: 4.2 qt Synavex 0W-40 SP full synthetic, Fram FPS3593A

In: 4.0L Motul 300V 0W-40, Fram FPS3593A

Interval: about 25 miles / 3 weeks

Kind of confused on this one. With the CAM2 oil my idle oil pressure was about 5 psi lower than what I normally see. After switching to Motul 300V, it went right back to my usual numbers.

Not sure what caused it since nothing else changed. Maybe possibly a bad batch of CAM2? I wasn't expecting that big of a change, so I'm just a bit puzzled by it.
