Post your latest oil change

2017 Ford Edge 3.5 awd, 79,932 miles. 10k on old oil. I just change on the 10s for this vehicle.

Out: Quaker State Euro 5w40 and CarQuest Premium 84502.
In: Same.

Had some trouble getting off the old filter, needed a wrench and all my muscles and I had only hand tightened when I put it on. I wonder if the red gasket had anything to do with that?

Great choice. Sleeper oil I think, overlooked by many.

Brother’s 2014 Honda Accord EX-L w/ 2.4 (K24) Earth Dreams engine, 139,585 miles
4,532 miles on oil, 3 months
Out: Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30, Honda #15400-PLM-A02 oil filter, Honda OEM air filter (22k miles on it, 1.5 years)
In: Same oil (now on 4th OCI), Microgard Select #MSL57356 oil filter, and Purolator A26282 engine air filter

The Restore and protect has dropped the consumption from 1 qt per 5K to 1/4 qt per 5K I’ve noticed in this interval. Definitely an improvement! The oil has always been changed at 5k religiously. I started using 5w-30 three years ago around 100k because it was consuming too much 0w-20. While the consumption slowed with 5W-30, it didn’t stop. Maybe I should post my story about Valvoline Restore and Protect in the thread titled after it, but I am happy that this oil seems to be making an improvement. Still have to do this last OCI with it. But even after that, I might continue using it. Swapped the air filter

I’ve got enough already stashed to get it to 120k, courtesy of one of Walmart’s clearance runs. All I’ve used in it since 30k.
Nice! It kind of comes and goes at Walmart I've noticed. It's a candidate for me after I finish the Valvoline Restore and Protect cleanup for sure. Even the non sale price makes it a steal.

Which oils did you run prior to Valvoline Restore and Protect?

I'd just run it forever in that engine, personally.

You guys must know better than Valvoline does.
If we were all sheeple on this site we could just open and close the door with Restore and Protect, 0W-30 ESP, and Carquest filters.
Luckily that's not the case. If your quote implies that I think that Mobil 1 Extended Protection High Mileage is the better performance fit for my old school roller cam Windsor engine, than yes I do.

I'm doing others in my area a favour by leaving all the Valvoline Restore and Protect on the shelves for them to cleanse their filthy engines, I hope they're grateful (y) ;)

I typically get 10 years out of my auto batteries - good quality ones like Toyota OEM and AC Delco have been good. Being in the NW part of the country, near the Pacific isn't really too hot or too cold here.

I preemptively change batteries in cars I don’t drive every three years despite living in the “45 months” latitude. This has served me well and the batteries are showing their age at the 36 month mark. I pushed my “good” battery to 48 months and it still showed its @ss towards the end of its life.

I agree. Before Valvoline Restore and Protect, it was mostly pennzoil ultra platinum, Quaker state, and a few Mobil 1 oil change intervals. Before 84k (when I started doing my own oil changes) it was bulk pennzoil from a local family-owned quick lube. Or at least it said pennzoil on the sticker…think they also might’ve used bulk Mobil as well

361k miles; 1998 Ford Ranger 2.5 (Lima); RWD Manual

Probably last oil change as I have a lower mileage replacement engine at a machine shop getting prepped to go in this spring.

I suppose I could have waited but it was time and this engine deserves it. I used a Purolator filter and the advanced full synthetic high mileage Super Tech.

May I ask what prompted this oil choice?
Just curious is all.
I agree. Oil choice and vehicle a little mismatched.

Asking a lot out of that GTX in the twin turbo V35A. Maybe you're counting on getting a new one in short order when it grenades, so it doesn't matter? :ROFLMAO:

I'd be running low SAPS Euro oil like Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30. Edit: Actually it's both DI and port injected. I'd favor full SAPS like Castrol EDGE Euro 0W-30 or Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 0W-40.

Those are pretty good oils. I suspect you've got the CBU on the rings from the quick lube oil. Glad Valvoline Restore and Protect is working for you!
