Love your fleet of high mileage cars run on conventional! If it’s not broke…..

2008 Chevy Suburban with 281,000 miles and 6.0 LS gas engine.

Out: Pennzoil Euro 5w40 with 5,000 miles on it.

In: Pennzoil Euro Euro LX 0w30. I like the assured start on a super cold day. 30 grade because we’re done with the high 90’s weather. The wind chill on the oil pan and radiator oil cooler will keep things in hand. Also removed the Fram Ultra 10060 and ran a Motormaster OE plus 10060 which is a Champ XL clone. This one was old enough to have the guide plate on it. When changing the filter, 5 liters works perfectly. The Fram Ultra anti-drain back valve held the oil in the galleries and it came out in a gush when unscrewed. It was on for 2-5,000 mile OCI’s.

How many months for this OCI?

2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer, 1.3L. 56,200 miles. 5,696 miles on oil, 25% according to oil life monitor

Out: whatever synthetic the Valvoline quick lube place put in (and valvoline filter).

In: Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20, Fram Ultra Synthetic (only thing the local Fleet Farm had, aside from the orange can).

Only got this vehicle in April. I plan to just follow the monitor. I did notice it seems to keep a much longer oci than the monitor in the Malibu this replaced. Wasn't comfortable going longer with the quick lube mystery oil.

Just under 185,000 miles... did it before it gets way cold here. This is one unforgiving garage floor to lay on in the winter.
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w20, MicroGard Select filter, pinky-lubed gasket, forgot to prefill; mulligan. Twisted on maybe 1/2 after connect. Tried a bit of low-energy backing off and it stayed.
Wrench sorta slipped when I did the plug unscrew whack/crack and rolled over the outside. I blame it on the odd angle underneath there and the wrench operator is a dork. It was already pretty beat up. Will be getting a new one and will stick with the old socket wrench from now on. Still went back on ok with a mild, yet firm, torque.

Well, I've read a lot about it here and figured I'd taste the Kool-aid. Perhaps among the more excited I've been to do an oil change so I could try the new stuff.

After fairly short OCI's mostly due to impatience, both vehicles in the last week got their change to Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w-30. I even got some limited boroscope pictures inside the oil filler (and beyond where possible) and dipstick holes, so do a before and after on upcoming oil changes.

2023 Nissan Armada 4x4 "S" with the sweet 5.6 liter V8, 400 hp
just under 21,000 miles on car, approx 4800 miles on Oil.

Changed with same oil and filter that had been in there:
Royal Purple 0w-40 Euro, just a bit under 7 quarts.
Fram Ultra Filter XG7317

Some might say I changed a bit early, but I do a lot of short trips and with winter starting I wanted the confidence of fresh oil in there.
Plus soon I will drive to Berlin for the holidays, the route to there has a lot of unlimited autobahn, so on this oil change there will be a LOT of 100mph and above driving for extended periods of time.
Which is also something, I want the confidence of fresh oil for.

Do the jem'hadar drive around the founders in this car?

2006 Acura TSX, 242K, 4,535 mile and 5 month OCI, no make up added
Out: almost 5 qts Mobil 1 High Mileage 5w30
In: almost 5 qts Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30, left PG filter

This is the 1st time the mighty K24 has tasted anything other than M1. I figured I might hafta start another R&P thread because there are not enough now...

One of the Michelin Pilot A/S tires loses a few pounds per month. Sheesh. What's a poor boy to do?

Depends what kind of car/engine. In my younger years I drove an 82 Cutlass with a 265 for nearly a year with no oil. Then my dad repaired the leak and flushed the black tar out, filled it with oil, and drove it for a few months before he sold it for cheap. Last I heard it was still going a few years later.
It was a Geo prism the oil was like tar had to remove the pan to get the oil out. I didn't have the balls to remove the valve cover it was only going to look worse. If it was a old school iron block and head I would of been less concerned.
