Out: Unknown (complementary first oil change at Lexus dealership)
In: 5 qts. Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w-20, 1 qt. Pennzoil Platinum 0w-20, STP extended life oil filter
Notes: Smelled a hint of gasoline in the oil, reminded me of changing oil on my old carbureted beasts, smell definitely more noticeable than on my Avalon with the same engine.

I remember when I first started dating my wife she had a 4 year old car. I checked her oil trying to do the right thing no oil on the dip stick black as coal. Took two quarts next weekend I changed it black n thick. Ended up dropping the pan it was worse than I thought. Cleaned it bolted back up filled with oil. I was mad because she had two older brothers that should look out for their younger sister by maintaining her car. We got serious I traded it in I knew it wasn't going to much longer.

Depends what kind of car/engine. In my younger years I drove an 82 Cutlass with a 265 for nearly a year with no oil. Then my dad repaired the leak and flushed the black tar out, filled it with oil, and drove it for a few months before he sold it for cheap. Last I heard it was still going a few years later.

2010 Silverado 5.3 4x4 wt. 281,000 on the od. Been running Syn Delo 15w40 because I had a dirty lifter. Good news, I got the lifter clean but, now I have a rear main seal leak, that was not there the last oil change! LOL Still doesn't burn any between oil changes (knock on wood).

Threw a bottle of blue devil in there and said a prayer.

Out and in: Kirk HM 5w30. XG7317 off, $2.88 Ecogard on from the tip here on BITOG

I don't think I added any make up oil; it went through maybe 1/2 quart. I guess it likes the HM 5w30? It did make one trip to San Diego...
The Oddy does not see nearly as much use since @The Critic got her the Corolla strippie; she loves it. You may have heard CA gas ain't exactly cheap; Santa Cruz Costco rag is like $4.20...

2003 Pontiac Vibe GT (2ZZ-GE Toyota/Yamaha engine), 136K miles, 4.7K OCI
Out: Amazon Basics Euro 0W-40, Purolator TL14477 filter
In: Amazon Basics Euro 0W-40, Purolator TL14477 filter

This is the 3rd fill with Amazon Basics Euro 0W-40. The high revving princess (8,600 RPM redline) loves it. Old oil came out cleaner than ever before, no particles on magnetic drain plug and no color in drain pan. 1327 PPM Zn and 1242 PPM Phosphorus! This oil has a very distinctive smell, BTW, it still lingers on my hands. Nothing like Mobil 1 or Penn or Castrol. Almost a little like gear oil but not as strong. Anyway, I'm glad I stocked up when the Amazon had the 5qt jugs on clearance for $6. Still have 8 jugs left in stash!

Great engine! As a lover of high revers (Own 2), love this engine!

This is the FL-400S equivalent which fits fine in place of the FL-910S but it's a little bigger and easier to reach.
This is the second change with R&P but the oil has been changed every 5k since new with regular Valvoline synthetic so the internals probably aren't real dirty.
The old R&P drained out pretty black though.
