Post your latest oil change

Ever seen in a few episodes when he’s at a repair shop old Valvoline cans may have even seen delco boxes
That I missed. I did notice the prices of gasoline the few times he was at a full service station. I know a strange term to some. It reminds me of my pumping gas days (mid 1970s) after school. IIRC I was filling them up with 49cents per gallon. Funny, even at those prices it was tough for me to do a fill up in my 72 Olds Cutlass. Mostly empty wallet in those days.

That's wack.
Unfortunately it's true. We have a 2016 Honda Accord with a transmission dipstick. It's a really simple fluid swap. The remainder of my fleet don't have them and access to the drain and fill plugs is complicated. These include
  • 2017 Toyota Prius V
  • 2017 Ford C-Max Energi
  • 2023 Toyota Prius
I've had the first two of these changed by shops this summer as I am just not the contortionist that I used to be. The 2023 Prius puts me in a quandary as there don't appear to be any aftermarket fluids available for it yet.

Finally decided to taste the Kool-Aid... going in my '95 Seville w/ 77k. The engine is spotless inside from what I can see, but I'm hoping the Valvoline Restore and Protect might help clean the (very) likely ring deposits that these N* engines are known for.

Off/Out: Fram XG3506 (dated 198th day of '24) and Castrol Euro Car 5w-40

On/In: Fram FPS3506 and 7.5q of the aforementioned swill.

I plan on running Valvoline Restore and Protect for 2x 5k OCI's, leaving the FPS in place for both runs. Then I'll have to decide what to switch to, as using Valvoline Restore and Protect continuously is very likely overkill (not to mention pricey) for this clean an engine.

2013 Honda Odyssey EX-L
Mileage : 206,814
OCI : 3,551 miles , 3 months, OLM at 5%
Out : 4.5 qts of Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30 , Premium Guard PG4612
In : 5 qts of Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30 , Premium Guard PG4612

Oil lipstick shows a little improvement, not much.

Daughter’s 2014 Bronco 2.3 L. 24,999 miles, 4,775 OCI

Out Super Tech 5w30 syn, FL-910S
In - Pennzoil Platinum 5w30, FL-910S. FL-910S from a couple cases I bought a few years ago before the Mann Hummel downgrade. Only have 3 left, then on to some Baldwins I have on the shelf.
I'm hoping that you made a mistake in your typing. There is no 2014 Bronco.

2025 Grand Highlander Hybrid Max Platinum, 1500 miles.

Off/Out: Purolator TL14476 (from my stock pile of random Toyota filters), Valvoline Restore and Protect 0w20

On/In: Toyota 90915-YZZF1 (bought a dozen on eBay, since they’re the older school, larger form format that fit this and my wife’s Prius) and 5.6 quarts of Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30.

I am in the Hotdog break in period, which is completely made up and just makes me feel good. It is: “500 miles”, “1500 miles” (this one), “3500 miles” and then “normal” (3000 miles). The T24A-FTS is in use in a lot of things, and the general consensus seems to be 5w30 is fine and used by a bunch of people.

Next oil change will be at 3500, in 2000 miles, then I’ll get into the normal, anal Hotdog453 3000 mile cycle.

I make no defense of my insanity.

Hi all, first time posting. Serviced my mother's new car on Labor Day.

2024 Mazda Cx-5 Select with the Skyactiv-G engine.
Now has 6,288 miles on the ODO. Last service was in March at 3,668 mi. My mother only uses it to go around town, so no highway trips.
I plan to run an OCI of 6mo/5k, and I track intervals on the Carfax app.

Out: whatever bulk oil was from the dealer & Mazda PE01-14-302B-MV (Mazda Value Products, see below)

In: Castrol "Zelda" Gold bottle 0W-20 from Walmart & a PG4612EX from RA.

Might change up to 5W-30, but Castrol should be plenty good going forward.
