Not that my Accord or CRV hold much more (4.5 qts) but at only 3.8qts have you done any UOA to see how the oil holds up with 7500 mile from MM?
I have not. This car is driven very easy and sees frequent long trips, so I am comfortable doing the longer OCI even with the turbo. The oil is always dark at the end but does not appear to have fuel dilution.

I like to do one on many of my vehicles just as a baseline in my use. It at least gave me an idea that 7500 / 1 year was fine in some and others need less 5k or even 3k/6 months from short trips/fuel dilution.

I might do my Accord on next OCI. Currently 5k OCI but running VRP now to see if I can reduce oil consumption. At 5k OCI's it has done 1.5-2qt top offs so by 7500 would be almost a full gradual oil change/refresh.

2023 GMC terrain out whatever the dealer put in with AC Delco filter. In Kirkland 0/20 5 qts AC Delco filter. 6800 miles since last change OLM at 5%. No makeup oil. First change I did on this super easy put one tire on the curb filter and drain plug right in front nothing blocking the filter slide under done in 20mins. Bizzare thing 1.5 motor AWD calls for 5.3 qts FWD calls for 4.2 or something like that. AWD so I just did 5qt jug

2013 Lex GS350 F Sport, 117K, 6.8K mile 7 month OCI
Out and in: M1 5w30, YZZZZZZZZZZZZA3

I went too far on the service. Don't judge me!
What's wrong with Toyota's oil filter part number naming? Who does this?

This is why we use good synthetic oil…..so we can fudge a bit sometimes (when life gets in the way). That GS350 won’t miss a beat!

2016 Hyundai Accent SE 1.6 GDI. 248,961mi, ~1900 mi OCI (I'm nuts I know).

Out: Motul X-power 10w-60, Mobil 1 filter.

In: Motul 300v 15w-50, Purolator boss filter.

Believe it or not the oil wasn't very clean at 1900 miles and was full of soot. Most of those miles are either stop and go or hard highway driving with the tach pegged cutting up through traffic 😬.

My vehicle, 2006 Toyota Sequoia Limited:
215,500 miles, sorry about the glare in the pic in advance!
Out: Shell Rotella Gas Truck 5W-30, Toyota 90915-YZZD3 oil filter, 2 months, 4,776 mi.
In: Vavoline Restore and Protect 5w-30, Fram Titanium FS3600 oil filter (2020 date code, wire backed, got from AAP clearance)
PCV valve is at 35k miles. Replaced it along with the hose that connects it to intake.

My turn to see what the hype is about on VR&P. So far, it could be because it’s new, or me going mental, but this seems like the quietest oil I’ve ran in this truck. My brothers honda k24 has this oil in it too, there’s no discernible difference in that car from other oils. Interesting. Also, Walmart accidentally sent me a free extra quart of VR&P 😉

Oops! I just finished the third OCI of Valvoline Restore & Protect and intended to start a fourth, but I absentmindedly grabbed a jug of Extended Protection instead. I didn’t realize it until I was pouring the oil in and noticed it was visually different than VRP (slightly cloudy in the funnel) and didn’t have the telltale smell. Oh well. I’ll be more careful the next time I’m grabbing oil at Walmart.

My 11-year-old stepson mentioned last week that he wanted to learn how to drain oil from the bottom of the car—we typically just use an oil extractor from the top—so I woke him up before the heat of the day set in and showed him how. We also replaced the engine air filter and added some Techron to the gas tank for good measure.

Great skills to be teaching our youth, and great opportunity to build stronger bonds with your stepson. You done good.

My oldest stepdaughter learned how to drive a tractor, run cut-off saws, nail guns, etc. She helped build a cabin on some property we used to own. Hard worker. Still is, just not in construction.
