Post your latest oil change

Keep me updated on this. I’m intrigued
Will do!

The 2.0L is out and the 2.5L is on the stand. I'm procuring the additional bits and bops needed for the swap. I'll start a "build thread" in the near future and y'all can follow along with a guy who doesn't really know what he's doin' :p. Fortunately, this swap is common in the NC Miata community.

Assuming it runs and drives....what oil do I dump in? ;)

My son’s 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. 65,265 miles. 4500 mile OCI.

Out - second OCI Valvoline R&P 5W-30 and a Supertech MP9688 filter.

In - third OCi Valvoline R&P 5W-30 and an OEM filter.

No change in consumption after 2 OCI of R&P. Still goes through about 3/4-1 quart in 4K. Now, he does Uber Eats on weekends. Lots of idling. That’s probably contributing to the issue. I checked oil before I drained it and it was down 1/2 quart since I added 1/2 a quart 2K ago.

Waiting to see how the MP 9688 looks 😛😛

2010 Silverado with 196,000 miles.

Out: Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W30 with 6,000 miles on it.
In: In Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w30. Left the Fram Ultra on it. When we do that, I pour out 1 cup from the 5 liter jug and pour the remainder into the engine. The level lands out perfectly.

The one cup then goes into the Yuckaflux jug for future use. I used one of the two jugs I purchased on sale from Canadian tire and sent in the info for a $30 virtual MasterCard. :D

fwiw, the oil looked great coming out. dipstick still showing amber, not dark. she's recently been doing 500 mile round trip drives on the weekends so that I'm sure has been a big help for oil health

Points of possible interest: PP 5w30 is 9.8 Kv @ 100c. Basically it's just barely a 5w30 by only 0.3 points and am pretty sure it will be a Xw20 before the next change (< 9.5 Kv @ 100c) and probably already a Xw20 due to blending. I've used PP for years but have to say comparing the Valvoline vs PP 2 to 1 Blends thus far, I like the VEP better .. quiter, smoother. I'm running PP in her Seltos and VEP in mine. Once I finish these jugs on hand, both will be running 5w30 straight out the bottle.

If anyone is interested in the 9688 filters, this seller (awdroadracer) on ebay has a few cases of 6 left.
