Post your latest oil change

2005 Jeep GC

~5,00 miles on oil, 200,540 miles on the Jeep

Out: frankenbrew and an ST3614
In: Mystik 10w30 HDEO and an ST3614

The previous fill was a frankenbrew of Citgo 5w30 FSHM and ST 15w40 FS HDEO. We were fighting an oil pressure light so my son had changed the oil filter and topped it off with the 15w40. It turned out to be the sensor.

Last oil change was Nov 2023 at 155,859 miles so my dad only drove 756 miles in 16 months.

Fastest oil change ever. My folks car outside in the driveway, located in a high mountain valley in Montana. As soon as I removed the drain plug, the wind hit and it started snowing sideways. The weather here changes at the drop off a hat.

1998 Avalon 340k miles, unknown OCI.

Out: unknown oil and a Fram

In: 5w-30 SuperTech 20k synthetic and a Microguard 51348

Bottom of the oil filter had a little carbon in it I particularly don’t think the engine in this car is very dirty. I’ve owned it for about 35,000 miles and I don’t think it’s ever gone over a 4000 mile oil change majority of them at 3000.

Wife’s 2020 2.0L EcoSport. 115,687 miles. 5,297 OCI. Dipstick on full prior to draining with no top offs since last OCI.

Out - 4 qts NAPA 5w20 syn, 1/2 qt 5w20 Frankenbrew. FL-910S filter.
In - 2 qts NAPA 5w20 syn (left from a 12 qt case I bought on sale), 2 1/2 qts Frankenbrew syn. FL-910S filter.

We have 2 cars that take 4 1/2 qts of 5w20, so I have 1/2 qt left over from each 5 qt jug. The Frankenbrew is composed of 5w20 NAPA, PP and SuperTech syn.

I am a 5,000 OCI guy. Great service out of these 2.0L Ford engines. My 2007 Focus has 231,000 miles and is always on full at 5,000 miles. My son has a Bronco Sport 2.0L with 125,000 miles and it does not use oil.

2014 Accord Coupe manual transmission
J35 V6 engine at 24,300 miles
Miles since last change: 4980/just under 6 months. Maintenance minder was still at 40% but I feel better changing at 5K.

Out: Kirkland 0w20
In: Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w30
Left Fram Ultra in place til next change

Wanted to switch to a heavier oil, chose PUP partially because it's thin for a 5W30 and my oil cap says 0w20.. Not worried about the higher viscosity as I live in Hawaii so no temps below 60 ever. Took a test drive after the oil change, no non-placebo difference, but to my butt dyno it felt a little smoother at higher RPM's.

2017 Tacoma Off-Road; ~116k miles

Out: (~8,100 miles): HPL Premium 0w-30 and Fram filter
In: HPL Premium 0w-30 and OEM filter

A little longer internal than I intended, but weather sucked the past month and was pretty busy/tired. Sending off for analysis, I'll post that when it comes back. FWIW, side-by-side the Fram Ultra Synthetic filter is WAY better built than the OEM. Not sure what this will mean in terms of engine life. Lets see what Blackstone says

Don't have to worry about the W grade in HI. :D

Yup I think my climate and engine give me a wide berth of products I can use. I guess even a 10W30 would work but those seem rare these days. If my UOA comes back decent I might push my mileage to 6 or 7K. The maintenance minder probably would have hit zero around 8K.
