Post your latest oil change

It could be a slight down grade, especially since the QS I typically use is the better of the two QS full synthetic options I've seen.
But for a 4300mi OCI, it will be fine I think.

It kind of is however at less than 5K miles in normal conditions the difference will be irrelevant in the real world. Dexos oil is Dexos oil.
You guys are absolutely right. I respect your thoughts.

For me personally, as anal as I can be about money and how I spend it, something deep within me would never allow myself to put in oil that's not at least better than whatever I'm currently using.

Again, I'm not trying to say I'm doing something better and y'all are not. Its a matter of preference and you saved money, which feels as good as knowing your vehicle is running at optimal performance. And as you said, it's a negligible difference over 5k miles.

Nothing wrong with Mobil 1…not sure how your negative opinion manifested but everyone has their preference

It wasn't Mobil 1, it was Mobil Full Synthetic which is their lower-tier syn that's the equivalent of Pennzoil Full Synthetic rather than Pennzoil Platinum.

That said, I've wanted to use that for some time now just because, but never caught it at a good price. It's a totally good oil.

Guess my reading comprehension, half asleep, is atrocious. Thanks for clarifying haha

Not only that bro, you kinda came at me saying I had a negative opinion and that everyone has their preference. I said that in my post and also, I wasn't being negative. Thank you for taking accountability though.

2005 Buick LaCrosse CXL
3800 V6 Series III

Out Frankenblend
3 qts Pennzoil Platinum Euro L 5w30
2 qts Pennzoil Full Synthetic HM 5w30
Out ACDelco filter

In Pennzoil Platinum 5w30
In Pennzoil filter

Miles on Oil 4512
Miles on car 173897

This is my first run with the "new" Platinum that can go 15000 Miles. Which is irrelevant for me because I would never go over 5000 Miles on an oil change and usually not much over 4k.

Call me a fanboy of QS, but I would not feel bad about running QSUP. Especially for the price. Im only not using it because I'm having some progress with the VRP I think.
I'm not knocking QS, though I would have liked to get more PUP (even with Walmart saying that the store has it in stock when the store didn't) I definitely got the best next thing from SOPUS.

You can buy PUP online and have it delivered to your door free, provided you spend $35 before taxes.

It's been 5-6 years since I purchased oil in a brick & mortar store. Oil filters and wiper blades too.
