You may try the mid grade, but if you got something that's working for you and you haven't had any problems I don't think you should switch what you're doingMitsubishi Outlander Sport with the 2.4L 4B12 engine:
Out: Kirkland 0w20, Fram PH7317
In: Kirkland 0w20, Fram PH7317
Everytime I think about ditching Fram, the SureGrip changes my mind!

If you are doing your own services you are probably saving money; using quality parts is, IMO, the only way to go. I wouldn't worry about a couple of dollars. Keep up the good work!I've considered it but it's a city driven car that sees less than 2000 miles between annual oil changes and the owner wants to minimize maintenance costs.
There's also some talk in the Oil Filter subforum about leaky bypass valves on the Fram filters with metal end caps. Ironically the fiberboard end caps might seal better.
I am considering switching to Denso FTF filters though since they're slightly cheaper. They seem very well made with better quality control, despite being made in China. Efficiency is definitely less than Fram though, and no SureGrip™!
