First oil change on my Dad’s car since picking it up on Saturday. The car has been short tripped around Concord Mass all of its life.

As some may know this engine runs on the cool side. That combined with the bulk 5W30 and short trips created some sludge and varnish.

Normally I would not use the LM engine oil cleaner. But I feel comfortable using it since I will be driving the car.

Is it OK to rotate-cross our tires now? Ever since the advent of steel belted tires around 40 years old, I thought such practice was a No-No.
Perhaps today's technology now allows it and I'm just not keeping up.

I do the forward cross on my mom’s tucson. On my AWD bmws I do the rearward cross. All cars have a square setup and non directional tires.

As long as the tires are not directional and the same size, they can be cross-rotated. Cross rotation makes the tires wear more evenly too.

Since steel belted tires arrived, I've only done front-to-back or back-to-front rotations. Technology today now allows these cross rotations without damage to the steel belts?..... OK, Great.

Technology today allows the tires to remain quiet after cross-rotating them?....... that's great also. I sure haven't been keeping-up with how steel belt tires have progressed / advanced.

In -- Chevron Supreme Synthetic Blend 5W30 paired with Rislone Engine Treatment and Fram TG10295

Ps. Plan on running a short 3K OCI with this oil and Rislone in the sump. Will switch over to Mobil One 0W40 moving forward.
