Tough to tell, the engine has a PCV baffle system right at the fill hole, but that baffle is spotless (and I’ve seen others that’s aren’t). I’ve run three 10,000 mile intervals previously, and one 8,000 mile interval. Prior to that all 5,000 mile intervals. Just recently cut open my oil filter (from my recent 10,000 mile interval), that thing looked spotless. I’ll keep an eye on things this interval, if the oil starts getting dark very quickly I may consider changing it out, usually the color change is pretty linear throughout my intervals, all the way to 10,000...with zero consumption.

How do you sleep running 10K intervals??? The ice caps are going to all melt down today...

The Endurance is rated for 25,000 miles ... no need to change it out at 5,000 miles if you're doing 10K OCIs.

When are we going to get the Extended Endurance rated a 30,000 miles for $4 more?

It looks like that engine hasn't needed any repairs. Else we would see a fingerprint or two in the 20 year dust film!

Amazon has a 6qt pack for 53 USD. I ordered two since castrol was doing the rebate. I also ordered 2 quarts from $8.88 USD walmart since I wanted 14 qts total.

changed oil on a 2005 Grand Prix 3.8 v6 Friday night.

Removed a white Supertech 3387a and drained out Resolute 5w30 Synblend

Installed a Purolator TECH T10111 filter and put in fresh Resolute 5w30

the Resolute is a Fleet Farm specific brand thats bottled by Citgo.


Changed oil on my 1997 Ford Explorer 5.0 about 2 hrs ago.

Removed an ST2 White Supertech filter and drained out more Resolute 5w30 blend

Put on a Motorcraft FL820s and put in Chevron Supreme 5w30 blend
