A friend of mine just bought one (CC, 4wd, 2.7t) and I’ve been impressed with it so far. Granted, I’ve only ridden in the truck a couple of times as we’ve tried different golf courses but it doesn’t seem to struggle to motivate and he seems to average low 20’s mpgs. I did recommend 5k oil changes and the dealership did the first one for free.Brand new Silverado 2.7 couldn't wait to get the factory fill and filter off at exactly 4k ......it was surprising how dark it was
Dealer did a BG treatment before it even got out out on the lot for sale with 2 miles on it the charge was added to the widow sticker

the 2016 Cadillac CTS V-Sport is getting Mobil 1 EP 5W-30 with an AC Delco PF63 filter this time...it is not my daily driver and usually gets under 4K miles in a 1 year interval...decided to use the regular ACD filter as many of the owners of V-Sports and ATS Vs run this filter instead of the heavier UPF-63R I ran last year without issue...
last oil I used the Shell Rotella Gas Truck 5W-30 and that ACD UPF63R filter without any known issues...

2022 Corolla towed back to us. Thank You Firestone for putting a oil filter on and leaving it loose. Once in shop, drained the fresh 4.4 quarts out, put on Auto Extra 51394. Then spent hour cleaning my bay up from the oil that leaked out as I was driving it in. (Put 5quarts in then started and drove car in)
4th Firestone screw up this week. Used them some since no PM techs showed up all week.

At least caught before the whole sump was lost and the engine seized up and/or threw a rod through the block.

Have samples from the first filter change at 7182 miles, and now at the end. Will likely do particle counts on both, but I just couldn't see changing the Fram with only 8k miles on it. It will come off around 5k miles into this OCI. Yes, I know I went a little long on the filter changes... we'll see in a month or so what the Synthetic FE caught
Next up next week: 8 gallons of HPL ATF Green CC and 5 quarts of Differential Life 75w110...

My friend just had his 2020 Civic Si towed to shop. He pulled out of his driveway, 30 yards away oil pressure light, and low oil came on, motor shut itself down, he was on a hill. pulled dipstick and saw a bit on the stick. He tried to restart but it wouldn't, he waited 5 minutes and tried and it started so he pulled back in to driveway. Shop found his oil plug resting on the belly pan when they took it off even after towing a couple miles. No oil in it. His normal independent shop had done the change less than 1000 miles ago. When he called the shop the owner gave him an attitude and "what do you want me to do about it?". We'll see how that works out afterward.
He's hoping no or minimal damage. 2020 Civic Si 4dr with about 12000 miles on it.
This is why 13% of us change our own oil!
He just ordered a set of raceramps for that reason.
I can't even recall when I had a dealer do an oil change on any of my cars or parents. After I moved further away Mom and Dad would go to local shop that dad trusted. He was an automotive instructor for ConEd and had his own company on the side doing all the teaching for emissions systems, computer systems etc. He helped write some of the ASE tests back when it was NIASE.

Sounds like the engine was ran some with no oil at all. Did the drain plug fall out and dump all the oil between his house and the 30 yards down the road when the oil pressure light came on.
Was the engine knocking and making noises during the loss of pressure episode? Starting it back up and driving back to his driveway without oil probably didn't do it any favors.

He had a lot of oil on his driveway where he was parked overnight from most likely loose plug dripping. Didn't say it was knocking.
Judgement call on moving since it restarted. Basically a very narrow road, blind curves, stone walls and garbage truck etc goes through around then. He has had to back up (and others do) to a wider spot so they could pass. Definitely no favors to motor.

Had you run the Pennzoil Euro 0w40 instead of your 0w20, you may have changed your mind about selling the Venue.
Those Korean four cylinder turbo (TGDI) cry-out for heavier oil to cool them off. Even 0w30 Pennzoil Euro LX would have been a better choice.
Just my opinion - after reading so many comments on four cylinder TGDIs suffering slow premature deaths - mostly because of a combination of excessive OCI's + too thin of oil.
So many of those TGDIs from Korea were being serviced with semi-syn 5w20 their whole, shortened life.
Just my 2 pennies here. I belong to a few Hyundai and Kia forums on the interweb - read all the complaints and sell them a fair amount of crying towels..
This is a Smartstream 1.6L Dual Port Injected engine. No turbocharger or direct injection. Not to knock your valid HyunKia TGDI concerns, but this engine is (or will hopefully be) free of any of any catastrophic failures.
