Post your latest oil change

1991 Volvo 240 sedan, 221,836 miles on engine and car, 3,010 OCI

Out: Castrol GTX 10W30, Mann W917
In: Pentosin 5W30, HPL EC30; Mann W917 filter

I bought this car last Tuesday in San Antonio and drove it 2,080 miles home.

The engine consumed 200ml of oil in 3,010 miles. I’m really pleased.

Small amount of varnish. Nothing else.

The previous 2 owners used conventional oil changed every 3k.

My fathers best friend had an orange 1976 Gremlin, I’ve posted pics of it here. I wanted to keep it as my first car, but no dice. Would love to have one!

2009 Ford Flex, 259,591 kilometres. Used Supertech Synthetic 0w20 and Motorcraft FL500S. First time using Supertech Synthetic, it's had a pretty steady diet of Penn Plat, but the PP 'on sale' price is $15 more per jug and the old girl is getting too old and rusty for that expense. Don't tell her !!

2020 Honda CRV EX-L with the typical 1.5t OD issues 30,300 miles

Out: M1 0W-30 AFE, Honda 15400-PLM-A02 filter
In: M1 0W-30 AFE, Honda 15400-PLM-A02 filter

A tad over 3k on this OCI. The M1 0W-30 AFE seems to be working as it should, not rising much on the stick.
Considering changing to M1 5W-30 EP the next time around due to difficulties in locating the 0W-30 AFE locally.

2002 Chev Silverado 1500 Z71, 5.3L LS engine, 212K, unknown OCI maybe 5K
My friend lent his daughter and son-in-law his trusty Silverado, which he bought new. Just got it back this weekend, after 2+ years. Truck did a lot of home remodel work in Reno and Rosevale.
Truck was totaled on highway 17 (locals will understand); Marc found a Suburban same color and swapped all the front sheetmetal. Looks great.

Out: Dino(?) and Purolater from Quickie Lube
In: 5 qts Castrol Syn 5w30 + 1 qt Castrol HM Syn 10w30; Microgard Synthetic filter.
Also put new rubber reusable gasket on the drain plug and air filter. Threads were perfrct, both plug and filter were overtightened. 35 PSI all around.

We will pull the wheels off next week and do a brake inspection and perform a brake fluid flush. Needs some front seat work. Nice truck.

Wife’s 2018 Grand Caravan

Out: uh… this is embarrassing. I can’t remember the last time I changed it, but if BITOG is correct it was August of 2020 😬😅 That would make it Castrol Edge and a Fram Ultra filter coming out… no idea on mileage, probably over 20,000 judging by a February 2020 post where I said it had 57,500 miles and it’s now at about 85,000.

In: HPL 0w20 premium plus and Mobil 1 filter, I plan on doing a UOA at 6 months or so.

Drain plug stripped out on me… Menards had this nifty little pump for $25 and I’m incredibly impressed with it.

If you never reset the OLM during this time, the interval was probably under 10K.

Yeah it definitely got reset with the intention of “I’ll do that this weekend” It’s possible it got done April 2021, as I didn’t have any extra oil laying around in January 2022 the second to last time I changed the trucks oil and I always buy 15qts to do both vehicles.

Edit nvm.. only bought 10ft a in April 2021 found the receipt… massive “my bad” on this one 😅

Wow, 2,080 miles! And my wife thought I was crazy when I bought the silver Vibe GT sight unseen at an auction, got on a plane and drove it 1,100 miles home.

As long as it wasn't run low, I can't really see a problem. Edge should easily be able to run that long in a port injected V6, and I'm not aware of pentastar engines being hard on oil. That hpl you put in could probably easily go 25k. You'd definitely be getting your money's worth.

New to us, so I always like to change the fluids. I’m sure it’s a waste of oil, but that’s why we’re all here!

Out: 6 quarts of unknown oil (dealer said M1???) and a PF63 oil filter.

Cadillac specs the UPF63R for this engine. You would think the Cadillac dealer would know that!

In: 6 quarts PP 5W-30 and a UPF63R filter

Nothing dramatic, but I feel a lot better! BTW, it’s the easiest thing to change the oil in. Took maybe 15 minutes.
