The 93 saw an Indy shop yesterday, had the service lights reset in addition to all the work carried out on Oil Service + Inpsection (yes, it was that long, I DIY'd oil till I could get it in).
It got a BMW or equivalent filter (probably from one of the OEM suppliers)
And Penrite HPR10 - the 10w50, Synthetic/Full-Zinc LL98/LL01/ACEA-A3/B4 rated oil. While I'm not personally a fan of that oil - it doesn't worry me. The service at the Indy was completely outstanding.
What came out? Shell Rotella T6, 5w40, ran for 3000 miles (cheap, good oil, great as a "carryover," like I used it for). The M1 that ran before had about 7500 miles on it, and I felt it was due for a change.
For the record, on a 1993 E36 BMW, the Service Lights have ran about a 7400mile interval, and a 7300 mile interval. Car's newer seem to use a 9300 miles interval, then eventually the 15,000 interval once you get into the last 15 years or so.
