4.4L of Motomaster Formula 1 Dino 5W-30, which i believe is the same as Formula Shell
Quakerstate Oil Filter (Purolator Premium Plus)
Vehicle: Nissan Quest VQ35DE
Last fill was: 1/2 PP & 1/2 F1 dino (both 5W-30) with Motomaster Made in China Filter!
88 E-150 4.9L 5W30 Edge 300 ml Lubro Moly. I have to say I like this combo. First time for the combo, the butt dino OK'ed it, and the engine seems quieter. PP was quieter over M1 and M1 EP, this has them all beat. Nothing scientific, sorry, JMO.
Today, changed oil for the first time on the new 8-yr-old 2002 Dakota 3.9 V6.
Had the local service station put it on the lift & do it, because I wanted to get a good look underneath. Happily, no unpleasant surprises!
Since I had lots of oil stashed away, and ~10 filters to fit the new truck, my expense was for labor only- $12, & no hassles about looking around underneath.
The old oil was Castrol Syntec- but the bottom of the oil fill cap looked pretty grungy, & the oil was *Very* dark.
Went back with:
*Formula Shell 10w30 dino(4 qts)(this had a good rep for cleaning a few years ago, whether earned or not)
*Wix-made Penske KMart oil filter, Wix 51085 equiv.
*~4.5 oz Lube Control.

German Castrol Syntec 0W30
Motorcraft FL400S
Changed from ARX rinse with 'old' Rotella T 10W30. Filter is heavily loaded even though I changed it halfway through. Ill take pics later after the element drains.
