2009 Hyundai Accent GS 6/1/10 7650 Miles Castrol Syntec 5W30/Hyundai Filter (hers)

2009 Chevy Malibu with 2.4L Ecotec. Super Tech 5w30 with Fram cartridge filter. OLM at 13% after 8100 Miles. Also got free rotate and balance on the tires because I previously bought the Lifetime deal from WalMart at $7.50 a tire. So an Oil Change and tire service came to a grand total of $27. Can't beat it.

The new owner of the shop I've done business with for the last twelve years charged me $55 in January for an oil (Castrol GTX 5W-30) and filter (NAPA) change for my 2007 Impala. Told myself I'd never go back, but he does "soft" state inspections or at any rate has never "upsold" me.

I asked him today after another uneventful inspection if he would take $10 to change my oil ($13 Castrol GTX 10W-30 gallon) and filter ($6.49 Purolator Pure One). He wanted $20 but settled for $15. Not too bad, and he's close to my house.

Also, with the future in mind, I saw the ad today at Advance Auto Parts for five quarts of Valvoline dino and a Purolator Classic filter for $16.99.

Car has had a steady diet of Pennzoil Q-L shop bulk dino at 5K KM intervals since new. Switching to a *known* top tier brand bottled oil and will extend to 5K Miles.

QL shop's choice of filter came out wonky (pleats collapsing) so went with a good quality Wix this time.

The mileage numbers are slightly rounded, but I promise to do better next time! I bought some 12,000 LB ramps with my AAP coupon the other week so I decided to put them to good use.
