2011 Sonata Hybrid, 3700mi oci, old 0w20 out, new 0w20 in, along with a new Hyundai OEM filter. After that cleaned my throttle body. Still waiting for oil analysis report to determine if my engine is OK with thinner oil in winter.
Stick with Valvoline extend protection as a cheaper option to get full syn oil compare to Amsoil, giggity! My car seems like it.
Doing some experiments in this oil change:
1. Does my car has flood mode to prime the filter? No. Try to start in flood mode but ECU decides to crank the engine and redline it. ECU's effort is futile, as I release the gas pedal as soon as the engine start cranking.
2. My mechanic told me priming filter before installation is a myth. I tested it and my oil pressure warning light stay lit for 1-2 sec. Not a fan of that. If I prime the filter there will be no oil pressure warning. However directly pour oil into the center hole of oil filter has the risk of bring debris into engine. Which one should I compromise?
