6k recommended oci is a PIA, but I finally stopped procrastinating and changed it today.

Out: 0w20 Mobil 1 and Subaru filter
In: 0w20 Citgo Supergard and Subaru filter

OCI: 4,800 miles (I usually try to keep it around 5,000)

Out: 0W-20 Pennzoil Platinum (3 qts. of old oil total w/1 qt. added in midway from being low)
In: 5W-20 Pennzoil Platinum (4 qts poured in)

I'm aware of the oil consumption TSB Toyota has sent out for my model and year but I have seemed to pass the test twice yet I still burn 2 qts. of oil, mainly doing city driving. Not sure why my 2AZ-FE motor burns that much doing 5K OCI.

Out: 4.23 quarts of PUPPP 5W-30 - 4k mile interval. I started to get a bit of chatter at start up after about the 3k mile mark.

In: 4.23 quarts of Schaeffer Supreme 9000 5W-30. The hope was that some extra moly would get rid of the chatter. 100 miles in and so far so good. Quiet as could be.

That filter is a BEAR to get to isn't it....I use a 15000 mile filter on GF's so I don't have to dig for it as often.

Just did the first oil change on my 2017 Ram 5.7 Hemi....I used Kendall GT-1 full synthetic 5w20. Have used it for years, and my dad used in back in Buffalo, NY, since around 1950. Never an issue with the old Kendall Superb!!!

I just helped a friend of mine to change the oil on his 2004 Honda Odyssey and 2009 Mazda 5. Both cars use 5W-20.

The oil is a generic brand I have never heard of though.
