Post your latest oil change

I'm visiting family in Florida, and my grandson wanted the oil changed in his new to him 2013 Focus. Engine has 88K, but the head looks very clean, but we decided to go with M1 0-30AFE.

Approx. 2500 miles on oil.

I had to switch to a smaller filter because I got a new header and it rubbed the FL400s filter I was using. Switched to a ST4386 (equivalent to Purolator 14477). The oil in the FL400s was practically gelatinous, so I changed it.

Haha-yeah. I keep forgetting to pickup a batch of those. I'm at the point where the FJ has probably 10 of those holes I need to fill LOL
If I could only keep people from hitting my wife when she drives it. Honestly, I've had to get the corners replaced like 4x already...

A) I want to take db measurements on my oil changes too-waaaaa
B) I've come to the conclusion that I don't like "cup style" oil filter wrenches because they grab and jam and have to be knocked off the filter.

This one got away from me. I put the RT6 in last August intending to do a normal 24,000 OCI, but then I put the truck into service delivering travel trailers all over the US and Canada. I have put 30,000 miles on the truck in 3 months, and I just plain forgot when to change the oil. Oil sample taken and sent to Polaris labs. Hopefully the 9 quarts of make-up oil offset the excessive amount of miles.

A Harman,

Does your Ram diesel go thru oil as much when it is fresh vs. 10000 miles later or nearing the end of the OCI?

I ask because if you tend to burn more near the end of the run, then it seems counter productive to extend the OCI. But this, of course, is disregarding the inconvience of regular downtime as someone as yourself who is OTR.

2002 Olds Alero 3.4 V6 156k miles:

Out
Castrol GTX 5W30 and Fram Extra Guard OCOD

In
PYB 5W30 (have a few jugs from sale) and AC Delco PF52 Classic

I change it every 5 or 6k kilometers (usually around the time the OLM light comes on) From what I understand, the first generation of GM's OLM is based on time/distance right?

It sees about 90 percent highway use so I am sending in a sample to Blackstone to see how things are. More than anything I want to know if there are coolant traces.

Oil consumption in my truck is pretty consistent throughout an OCI. It doesn't seem to increase toward the end of the interval as you suggest. Since I have just been doing the trailer delivery thing for a few months, I need to optimize service intervals. I've never worked my truck as hard as I'm working it now. And starting out with a 37,000 mile OCI was definitely not wise.

Previously, I would put 18,000 miles a year on the truck, with about 6000 of those towing my 2-axle open car hauler. Now I'm running 10,000 miles a month, with 50% of those miles towing bulky travel trailers. I haven't been getting backhauls, so I'm running home with the truck unloaded, so it gets a rest half the time. I was comfortable with 24,000 mile OCI's on RT6 from the oil analyses I had done a couple of years ago, and I even thought I could extend them to 30,000 miles. But now the change in truck duty cycle will force me to reassess the OCI. (Not to mention more frequent trans and diff fluid changes.)
