Should have never tried the Pennzoil Platinum in this VQ35DE. It drank it like water. This engine only likes 2 oils. Rotella T6 5W-40 and Amsoil ACD.

This was the winter storage oil and went in last August.
I got the car out of the garage last Sunday and have driven it a couple of hundred miles since. I changed it today after driving home from work.
Before a certain mod shows up and tells me how wasteful such a short run was, the OM actually recommends an oil and filter chnage both prior to and after storage.
This seems a little silly, since the oil doesn't suffer just sitting in the sump, but that's what BMW recommended in 1995.
