In:5w-20 Mobil 1 quarts I had laying around from the hemi.
Its been in for about 100 miles and already the oil is getting black. I've done the mmo drive around and idle flushes with this engine and still the oil goes black real quick.
I think this engine wasn't well maintained before I got it. I've got 2 jugs of ultra 5w-30 and 2 jugs of devlac elite 222 for this car but I wanted to try a 20 grade in it. Definitely revs up quicker,oil pressure is slightly lower however its still 35 pounds at idle,so no worries.
Maybe ford should have back spec'd the 5.0 for 20 grades too,doesn't seem to be doing mine any harm

Haha yeah I'm not usually a fan of franken-mixing, but I had misc. amounts of oil. From here on out, I plan to use a 50/50mix of 5w40/5w20 Schaeffer in the Corolla and will continue with 0w20 for the Civic.

Schaeffer have any plans for a 0w20? I've tried contacting, but no reply on the matter.
