I am carefully increasing the OCI on the FX4 to see how far MS5K will go (UOA to follow). The Azera short trips and kills the oil; I have switched to a 4K/6Mo OCI on it with conventional oil.

1997 Ford F-150. Out: Originally Quaker State 5w-30 with various things added for makeup, Motorcraft FL-820S. In: 5qt. jug Castrol GTX HM 10w-30, plus 1 qt. Rotella T 15w-40, Motorcraft FL-820S.

2001 GMC Savana 1500. Out: NextGen MaxLife 5w-30, which I think is great stuff, and a Microgard MGL3980 can o' death. In: 5 qts. Kendall GT-1 10w-40 with Liquid Titanium, and a Microgard MGL3980 can o' death.

Had a shorter OCI. left the filter in to do 15k.
 
2012 F150 5.0L

2491 miles - 1st change. Factory fill looked good with no abnormalties (glitter, particles, etc).

Replaced with Valv. NextGen 5W20 and Puro filter.
 
2004 Highlander 133,860 miles
OCI at 3991 miles.

Also, changing just before a smog check being done.. If it matters. Should be interesting because I changed both O2 sensors out a few months ago.

1,300 miles or so, 6 months on oil, had to replace plug halfway through (long story)

Oil : Mobil Super 5k topped off with Pennzoil High Mileage

In :

Oil : Castrol Syntec 5w50 (2 qt SJ, 2 qt SM) topped off with 3/4 qt Pennzoil High Mileage to bring up to the FULL mark.

Filter : Napa Gold 1134, i.e. Wix 51134 same product different label.


This is my fall/winter fill. Impressions so far? Feels about the same but we will see.
 
2010 Honda Fit DX-A

Out: QSUD 5W20 SN with a Wix 51356 after 4,000km due to a Wix backspec warranty loss.

In: Acura Idemitsu 0W20 SM with a Wix 57356. Plan to run until Spring.

Slightly louder valve train, but a bit raspier and peppy. Start car and go with less warmup time, this may be my toothpick against the evil dreaded 5.50$ / Gallon gas (fingers crossed).

I change these based more on time than mileage. Roughly every 2-3 years as mileage is only a few hundred annually and no cold starts.
