Could you show the quality issues of the Mann oil filters?E90 N52:

P2 V70 NA:

Both cars see less than 5k km per year since we started working from home, but I continue to change oil annually for the hell of it. Switched the E90 to Mahle filters after some quality issues with OE Mann filters. The Mahle seems better quality to me, and is made in Austria instead of Mexico. Interestingly, Mahle is the OE filter for the E90 M3 and E60 M5 while Mann is OE for the non-M models.
Could you show the quality issues of the Mann oil filters?
I’ve never seen those issues…Personal experience: gobs of excess glue on the clean side of the filter, which broke free without any effort (ie would've been ingested by the engine).
Online: reports of the Mann filters bending/deforming, which apparently doesn't happen with Mahle filters. No idea why and hard to believe seeing how Mann is OE.
So why roll the dice with Mann when the Mahles are the same price and seem to be better. Even if the "quality" is the same, at least Mahle seems to have better QC
I’ve never seen those issues…
And Mann is the same as the bmw filters, and I doubt they have issues with them
Well ok. You're the only person who I have ever heard of having an issue with the Mann filters, so I will keep using themI suspect the BMW branded filters made by Mann go through more QC
Perhaps you could do a separate post in the general vehicle section with more details and a lot more photos of your truck, engine, etc. Looks beautiful (and expensive).72 Cheyenne w 490 miles on new crate engine.
