2025 Tenere 700. Break-in oil change at 400 miles/one month of ownership.
OEM filter and gold bottle Yamalube. I'll probably stick with the OEM filters, but not the Yamalube. Dealer heavily discounted the oil and filters when I picked up the bike. Clutch feel improved with the full synthetic Yamalube (a stupid short friction zone is a common complaint with this bike).

'24 Honda Navi bought earlier this year...dealer did first service (multiple mechanical brake cables to adjust); have them a bottle of leftover Bel-Ray ester syn blend 10w-40 (owner's manual says 10w-30 vs service manual allowance for 10w-30 or 10w-40); no replaceable element or cannister oil filter...just a metal oil screen

out...factory fill oil in engine & rear diff
in...the Bel-Ray 10w-40 in engine & rear diff

What was the first sample on the right? That sample has a very different additive package than the Amsoil, and with only a 20° lower Flashpoint the overall viscosity fell off a lot more as well.

2017 Harley Road King. Out: Harley Davidson Eagle3 20w50 Full Synthetic (all 3 holes) and whatever filter they used at the HD dealership.

In: Castrol Actevo 20w50 semi-syn in the crankcase with a K&N oil filter and Quicksilver 85w140 Transmission Oil in the transmission and primary chain case.

5042 miles on the old fluids. Bike has just over 20k overall.

2025 Transalp XL750

Just hit 603 miles, so out the factory fill/break in went and in goes HP4RU. A little pricey since this thing has an extra large sump that took 3.75qt to fill.

I ended up with an extra Honda OEM filter so I opened it up and construction is immaculate. High quality cellulose media with perfect pleating and glue neat as a pin. Bypass seemed really high PSI, calculated at 30-40PSI to open. No complaints and no reason to use anything else, at least at the specced 4k OCI.

What does your dealer charge for the synthetic Honda juice?

Haven't checked, they didn't have it in stock so I ordered an oil change kit from Everett Powersports through ebay (slightly farther away dealer). it was $110 for 4 quarts, Honda OEM oil filter, and washer. It seems like it's generally going to be around $25/quart.

I don't mind so much since I enjoy playing the magic snake oil game, I just hope it's suitable to use for an entire OCI and not too biased toward racing expecting the oil to be changed after every race/track session. Honda claims it's "suitable for use in every Honda motorcycle requiring 10W30 and 10W40".

There's so little about it around, I'll make a thread once I get a VOA and some additional details together to put all the info in one place.

My local dealer has it for $13.99 or $14.99 when I bought the regular Honda stuff for my 600 mile break in.

I think you may be mixing it up with the red bottle "HP4S" Synthetic Oil. The local dealership also confused it, thinking there was only one "red bottle synthetic".

HP4S is substantially cheaper because it's not an ester based synthetic.
