Post Your Latest Coolant Change.

This is a 2022 Yanmar YT235 with factory cab (heater). 20 hours on the machine as it was a hold over/demo unit.

I drained the coolant due to a...um....boating.... accident where the EGR Cooler fell off and I needed to plug the two ⅜" ports where coolant was supplied to the cooler. After discovery of this i flushed it many times with hot tap water and removed the oil cooler, and flushed every line/hose I could get to until water ran clear.

Filled and drained with distilled water 3x then

Kubota b7510 tractor. I have no idea how old the coolant in it was so I drained it. It has a neat little drain that's easy to access.

According to the www it takes an asian coolant. No mention of anything special like sca addatives. It does say no iat green coolant.

I ordered some Zerex Toyota red as that's what I have in some other vehicles here so I put that in it.

had Honda do a coolant flush on my '23 Civic Si. They apparently love to use Valvoline VPS additives. They used VP005. They also used some VPS additive when they flushed my brake fluid a few months. Anyone have any experience with these Valvoline VPS additives?

don't really understand why they use them.

anyways, had it done early as I want to keep the head gasket in good shape and don't want any corrosion to weaken the gasket.

2008 Silverado 2500HD 6.6 Duramax

Out: Some unknown pink coolant with only -15C freezing point

In: G12 premixed -37C

I would have used Dexcool if it was available at home or in a close by store but now I got G12 at home so I decided to use thath for a coolant change out in a lovely spring weather

2017 Prius, 117K
Out - Toyota pink
In - Final Charge Pro-Series non-2EHA pHOAT.

OWI advised Peak OET should be used in the inverter loop, but Toyota says their pink or a similar high-quality hybrid coolant is to be used. And I’m sure commercial pre-mix is made with deionized water.

My Camry has a simple bleeding process but not the RAV4. For the RAV4 you open a tiny hose that connects coolant to the EGR valve and fill the radiator with coolant until it runs out of this hose. Reattached the hose, then with your no spill funnel half full of coolant and you run the engine at 1500+ rpm with the HVAC off. This puts the car in maintenance mode and eventually will open a couple valves to bleed the system. Takes like 25 minutes. When I reattached the tiny hose with the constant tension clamp, it wouldn't seal properly. The hose was a little too squishy or maybe I needed to put the spring clamp back in the exact same location. It was losing about 6oz of coolant a day over 150 miles. Went to my local Toyota dealer for a new tiny hose that they had to order. Set me back $9.95 for the hose. The new hose is sealing up properly and I think it's good for another 50k or more miles.

Really earlier in the week I changed the Expansion Bottle, upper hose, and a bunch of hose o-rings on a 2010 BMW X3, N52 3.0. I put in Peak blue Euro stuff. Yes, I think it's every bit as good as the snobby stuff.

Similar process on the “new” Prius in the family fleet. Open the 6mm bleeder plug on the coolant surge tank, fill until coolant runs out. Put car in maintenance mode, run until heat is hot and hoses are warm. Easy peasy, no AirLift needed or running the CHS pump like the second gen models. I’ve seen a similar plug on newer Toyotas.

I do a drain and fill once every three years and have for almost 200k on this car. Original thermostat.
I drained one gallon and filled with the same amount. I’ll drain another gallon and add another after a few days of driving.
