It's the THRILL of the FILL ⛽. Started paying more attention to M.P.G.s' with the purchase of a new '07 Prius . The KATRINA and RITA hurricanes also inspired . Stuck since then . More money left towards loan , insurance , economy , etc..

I took a little road trip recently with my '13 Scion XD. 1.8 with 4 sp. auto. A small portion was Interstate. Round trip was 150 mi. 38 mpg. Local town and country is more like 30 mpg. Cost of regular is $3.79 in my area.

51+ mpg last two tanks with the HAH. This involved some highway, some local and mostly my commute.
26 mpg or so out of the Forester last couple of tanks, local driving only.

I tend to get about 33.5mpg in my 2017 Mazda 6. Driving I’d estimate about 70% highway at 80mph, 30% city and back roads.

If I drove more backroads to work, or jump off the highway due to traffic, my mpg increases quickly. It doesn’t like my 80mph, but that’s just keeping up with normal around here. I’m still getting passed by some. It’s significantly happier in the 70-75mph range.

It was about 1.5-2mpg better on oem Dunlop tires. I’ve still never recovered that since switching to continental dws’

Borrowed a family members 1998 Nissan Sentra, 1.6l 5sd manual for a trip from Seattle to central Montana and back around the first of December last year. Temps were below freezing most of the way and speeds were 70 to 80, mostly.

Most of the time OBDII indicated ~30 mpg, but when I got back, I added up the fuel slips and calculated 42 mpg over about 1400 miles for the trip.

I was surprised as I had the hammer down pushing it faster than it really liked to go.
