Post your current MPG

My mix has changed to more stop and go due to taxi duty for our two teens. Karate and Volleyball practices two nights each week. Also, I now drive to the train station 1/2 the time, instead of a lot of highway miles.

So I've been getting about 31.X MPG in urban driving in my 1994 Geo Prizm with 220K miles.

The 2002 Toyota Sienna is getting about 19-21, but I've not put gas in it save for a 5 gallon can that was about a month old (rotating the generator fuel into vehicles every month) in about 3 weeks, so I don't have a recent reading.

I have no clue on oilBabe's Camry. It gets about 30MPG on the highway at 60MPH, give or take with 186K miles on the clock.

I keep a fuel log/Excel spreadheet on all my vehicle fuel purchases so I know accurately what I am getting for MPG.

Currently my average fuel economy since buying has come out to just over 20 MPG( 20.1.... ). However, as the engine breaks in a little with mileage, and the warmer weather is arriving, the average fill up MPG is going up. I am now seeing 20-22 MPG on an average tank instead of the 18-20 I was seeing. That is about 57% city and 43% highway( I consider highway to be anything 45 MPH and up ).

I have only taken the vehicle on 1 all highway( 55 MPH+ )trip to this point. 116 miles round trip and only 5 of it were off highway. Got 28.2 MPG on the trip. I am seeing about 17-18 if I do 100% city driving. Had one tank that was under 17 so far. That was just 14 MPG. However, that was right when I 1st got it. Was all city stop and go plus a 3 hour stretch of just sitting idling( trying to warm up a warped floor mat so it would lay down flat ). Still, that worst MPG was the average I saw from the 07 Silverado I sold when buying the Equinox.

Not bad for a heavy SUV with an underpowered V6. I am exceeding the EPA estimates because I drive conservatively. I hope as it breaks in fully( should be close now if not fully )and I swap over to synthetic fluids( oil, tranny, rear diff )that I can squeak another MPG or two from it. Has been my experience in the past swapping my trucks over to RP all around so in this vehicle that gets better fuel economy to start with I hope to see some improvement from synthetics.

I checked the mileage on the Corolla after a 180-mile highway run (with about seven miles of city driving) and it measured out at slightly over 40 MPG. I'm pretty pleased considering the car has a roof rack on top and has some damage from a front-end collision that no doubt causes some drag. My speeds were mostly 70 MPH, with some 60-65 stretches.

17.5 mpg all city in the Tacoma, truck is lifted about 2 inches to fit 1 size up tires, 265/75/16. I've been trying to watch the scangauge to drive for best mpg.

20.5 all city in the Highlander, the wife's ride, just filled it up tonight.

31.5mpg in my 2003 saturn ion with the stick.

About 50/50 highway/city driving. Easy low speeds, nothing over 60mph.

Not bad, about 31 bucks to fill the tank.

Update;

2007 Subaru Outback with Auto. Last trip incl offroad was 30.1 mpg. Overall for last 2k miles - 28.8mpg

2005 Toyota Corolla 5 sp. Last tank 45.2mpg. Overall for last 4k is 44.1mpg.

All per pen and paper using miles vs gas used.

Gas is $4.29 diesel and $3.40 for reg unleaded.

Hey, that doesn't count!

Just turned over 29.2mpg on my last fill-up in the Integra. Saw three WOTs and one redline (6,500 RPMs), some air conditioning usage, some revving in park to make a movie, and only about 60% highway. EPA estimates for my car are 29mpg highway. Doing constant highway I usually get between 33-40 mpg, depending on how fast I go. If I go over 70 the entire way, I get about 31-33. Doing 55-60, I get 35-40.

08' Corolla automatic with 2600 miles on the clock. Drove 40% city/60% highway and averaged 34.5. Driven no more than 65mph on this tank and driven very gently in town. Hoping to see a couple of mpg's as the engine breaks in a bit more.

2001 Cherokee...Last tank was a whopping 18 MPG. Good tank is 19 MPG. Best ever (all 68-70mph interstate) was 22 and change.

Wife drives 4.0 Pacifica 47 miles RT each day. She gets 23MPG.

At $4/gallon for gas, monthly commutes will cost us about $95 more than buying gas at $2.75/gallon. Needless to say, our "fun money" has been trimmed lately.
