Post your current MPG

Just got back from vacation, Metro Detroit, MI to Frankfort, KY the Dodge Durango got 27.17 MPG headed down and 28.56 MPG on the way back. Backend loaded with luggage, kids, etc. The highest MPG I saw was 29.2 during the trip but between the rolling hills and brushed concrete the mileage dropped off a bit. Wife usually sees 22-23mpg to work & around town.

Calculated 38.9mpg in my new spark with about 300 miles on the clock with 75% city driving. Even my wife gets 34 in hers with 80% city driving and short tripping and she has zero care for efficiency.

I've posted/responded in this thread in the past about my vehicles MPG. But this comment is more to do with the difference between the dash/computer reading and my hard reading after I fill up. As I may have stated before, my cars computer reading in every vehicle that I've owned with this in dash reading is usually off(reads higher) than my calculated hard reading. Often this difference can be 5-6 MPG difference, i.e., my reading is lower on every(almost every) fill up. Lately my hard reading has been off/lower by about 4-5 MPG. I mean, what's going on here?

If the vehicles computer is showing, e.g., 37.* MPG, I may typically get only ~ 35 MPG on my cell phone calculator. But on this last fill up(mostly hiwy) it read 37.7 but I only got 29.74 when I calculated on my cell phone calc. My wife's Lexus was similar as was other vehicles we've had, with the only car in our family(CIVIC in my sig) being very close in both readings.

I go by my own readings and not the cars computer.

An Abysmal 24.1mpg** in the EcoSport providing neither Eco nor Sport.
This is around town with maybe 10-20% highway at most.
A very comfortable and solid vehicle though.

**per the DIC as I don't fill it, I just go from 1/4 tank to 3/4 tank - about 5 gallons.

The dash readout in my '16 Versa is very optimistic, sometimes as much as 6-8 MPG better than hand calculated mileage and always as much as 4-6 MPG optimistic. I do lots of country road driving in the 40-45 MPH range in the Versa. Last tank just filled yesterday hand figured to 55.901 MPG. Best tank ever was 56.820 MPG. Worst tank since I bought it in Feb. 2019 is 42.345 MPG.

Last week I hand calculated around the 15L/100km for my 3500. All highway and no trailers. This is with a dirty MAP and P0111 code.

I think I have the issue sorted out and will do some trailering later this week to check.

My last fuelly entry showed over 24 MPG for the Tacoma. That's a normal combined average, no long highway runs.
The ambient temps have been so high, it only takes a couple minutes to reach full temp in the morning LOL.

I've been getting about 38 around town in my spark. Did a trip that was mostly 55/65 mph for about 200 miles and calculated 46mpg. Pretty sure that's incorrect and the pump clicked a little too early but I stick with my one click rule. My guess would be 42/43 for that trip.

My wife has been getting about 21/22 in the Stinger. Tough to stay out of those turbo's.

My wife and son just left for a road trip to see colleges while I paint the house and catch up on wood processing/cleaning I missed when I had covid. They're heading to RIT first and then up to Vermont. She's running in ECO mode, so we'll see how she makes out this weekend.

A few weeks back I clocked 24.2 MPG average, approx 50/50 city/highway.
Brutal summer temps here in central CA valley, engine warms up in 2-3 minutes. Good for fuel economy though! I only run the AC when needed and my temperature tolerance is broad.
