saturn seems to be doing pretty good on gas mileage. a lot of folks here stating 40+ mpg. wow. what's the safety rating on those small cars, any video to see if it is worthy of upgrade for those driving big american sedan getting 25- mpg.

I am getting 32 mpg in mixed driving (60c/40hw) with my corolla and 25 of same driving condition with my accord.

23.5 MPG in my A/T 2006 Chevy Monte Carlo 3.9L
21 MPG in my M/T 1999 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L

City driving really kills the mileage on the Monte, on a recent trip up to New York I got 29.5 MPG. The (new) EPA rating is 26.

I'm convinced the old Saturns from Spring Hill Tennessee were some of the best cars GM ever put out (ignoring interior quality).

Maybe. They had a lot of mechanical problems.

My 96 SL2 Auto back home got 24-25 on most tanks with short trip driving (under 3 miles). 112,000 miles, running Chevron 5w-30. On the road, it gets about 34-37 depending on the load and speed driven.

Just under 18mpg on the first full tank of gas on the new Odyssey. ~320mi total on the ticker. Not too shabby for the winter.

29.5mpg on the 2007 Cobalt 2.2L auto.

47.6 mpg on a 2000 mile round trip from near Sacramento CA to Tucson Az including about 200 miles of driving around the Tucson area.

I drove 65 mph (true speed by GPS) on cruise control 95%+ of the time. I occasionally drove a bit faster to avoid obstructing traffic in the slow lane.

2005 VW Jetta Diesel Wagon.

16 mpg winter 18mpg summer 2007 tundra crewmax
18 mpg winter 20mpg summer 2008 4runner
14 mpg 1990 toyota land cruiser
0 mpg 1972 land cruiser, it is resting and i dont remember

winter:
18 mpg (85% city)/27 mpg (highway only) '96 Audi S6 2.2 TQ Avant
26 mpg (90% city)/38 mpg (highway only) '05 Opel Astra 1.8 wagon

My mileage went from a solid 29 in summer to more like 25-26 now. The CRV varies from 22-24. We drive briskly, but ideal inter-town runs about 45-50 mph. I wish it was better. I'll have to train myself not to hammer it.

34 mpg average over 30,000 miles on my '07 Mazda3 hatchback, 5-speed 2.3L. I've seen as high as 39mpg on my work commute and a low of 28 mpg through the mountains.

saturn sohc sticks shifts turning in 34-37.5 with winter still here.

Ford contour 4 cyl 2.0 automatic... 26 mpg and slower feeling than the saturns. Give me the grand marq!

2005 dodge ram 2500, cummins, quad cab, long bed, 6spd
winter time - 15-17mpg
summer time - 17-19mpg

2004 Mazda Tribute, 3.0 V6
17-19mpg, with wife who thinks she is speed racer on the highway.

2006 Buell Xb12x - 48-55mpg
2005 Suzuki Drz400sm - 45-49mpg

'04 saturn VUE 2.2 5 speed, 25.3-26.2 mpg, 95%hwy
the MPV, who knows? you think my wife will write down the mileage when she fills up?

Funny you'd ask this now. I just got 49.6 mpg out of my Metro. I was running some cleaner through the tank and thought I messed up the gas gauge since it was dropping so slowly.

I win the thread!
