Porche Cayenne 3.6 - misfire -

Wife said one the way to work she got a check engine light and it was running rough. Just went and check codes. Got (3) P0304 codes - all for cylinder 4 misfire.

Going to try new plugs but wasn’t sure if anyome else had any suggestions? Maybe swap coils from other cylinder and see if it follows?

Coil swap sounds prudent. If it doesn't move pull the plug.

I would swap the coil with another cylinder before doing anything else.

If you rule out a bad spark plug, coil, and wire, I would then suspect a bad fuel injector.

Pull the coil and plug for a look see, check the spark plug tube for oil, a leaking tube seal can let oil into the tube and cause a misfire.
If you have one of these it sure makes life easier than swapping coils and loading the parts cannon.

Oh hi!

If the plug well is dry then yes, I would swap coils and see if the misfire follows.

Depending on mileage plugs + coils isn't a bad idea. I've seen injectors flake out on the VR but @Trav probably knows more there.

we are almost at 100K on it. went ahead an got the plugs.

Confirming, is the cylinder order from front to back in a straight in line? 1,2,3,4,5,6

#1 is in the front.

Running a little short on time, so just Got 2 new plugs installed and swapped coils from #1 and #4.

Any trick to getting those coils loose? They were pretty hard to get out.

Got code cleared and idle Seems to have cleared up for now. Engine light is off. Will see how it does tomorrow. Will change out other 4 plugs tomorrow

Got the remaining plugs swapped out and so far so good. Misfire has not returned yet
