This fellow is demonstrating the durability of the current popular brands.

Didn’t watch the video closely, but I have used several of those products and his results are significantly different, and worse, than my experience. Specifically turtle wax sns and griots 3n1 both give several months of water beading, especially on hoods and roofs, up to 6 months. He did something wrong in there.

He completely stripped the paint, then applied these products quite sparingly. He should have done a second application before testing. I realize that the instructions don't say to do that, but it would have changed the results for the better.

I've been using Turtle Wax Hybrid for some years now, and it does help with water beading. It only lasts a couple of months, though. Don't believe claims that products like these last for a long time.

So I've watched a few videos of this guy. I don't like his application method. He gets 2 months from any sealant and he is showing signs of bias (IMO) in favor of Pan's product. I stopped watching his videos. They were decent at first but I started to notice a pattern.

With that said, sealants are really temporary with most lasting 1-4 months in a typical 4 season climate.

Luckily many are that easy that they can be reapplied at almost every car wash.

One of my favorites was Ultima Paint Guard plus. Wipe on and walk away. Yes, all the prep had to be done originally but after that I could even clay mitt if needed while washing. 10 minutes max with a couple ounces and it was recoated and that was my Sequoia. My Sonata was 5 minutes.

I was hoping that the detailing companies were going to come out with a lot of wipe on walk away products but it never really seemed to catch on. I treat Meguiars Ultimate Fast Finish like a WOWA product and don’t buff it off. It leaves some streaks but they go away after the first rainstorm or car wash and then it gives me about a month or two of really good hydrophobics. It’s a bummer that Meguiars discontinued the product although I still have 5 cans of it left.

I don’t mind a product that only gives about a month of protection if it is easy to apply and only takes ten minutes.

I was under the impression he was an unbiased guy so I had followed him. lol

But you are right, most of the products he tests, durability is usually less than advertised.

Also he is from Canada, so his winter season is much harsher than ours. I figure he would give some sound advice on which product to use.

I do have the Clean Spray Sealant haven't tested it yet. Product seems to be sold out fast.

Me too. He may not be biased towards Pan's. I just found it odd he gets far less durability with all product it seems. But it could be his climate like you said. (y)

I use GROITS 3 in 1 to assist my existing ceramic protection, I can tell you that it definitely does not last 6mo for me.
MAYBE 3 at the most.
I have actually been using it less and less lately in favor of a 3 in 1 from the same company that males the Ceramic coating I used

From what I've read G31 needs a freshly polished surface with two coats applied 12 hours apart to really hold up.

I actually think he's pretty honest. I agree with his takeaway which is if you are going to do a proper prep you might as well use a more serious product that actually lasts like Gyeon CanCoat or ADS Phobic. I have applied a lot of spray sealants and IMO there is no such thing as a really good water-based sealant that is going to last beyond "hanging on" after a few months and deliver strong performance.

That's basically what you get from Gyeon Wet Coat or similar, and why I keep it around. It's super easy to apply if you are doing a regular wash.

Just an FYI, he works and presents with Pan the Organizer on occasion and people are calling that out in the comments their direct relationship. He said Pan's spray coat lasts longest.

Pan's tests and recommendations have been called out in his comments section as he has sponsors and such over the years, prior to coming out with his own line.

This is true but his conclusion was more or else that they all sucked.

I still like and use good old Nu Finish!
That is what I just used on my truck. I was out of wax and that's all family dollar had in stock so I bought it. It still works pretty good.

What we need is a wax that will stop rock chips on the front end of a car. Who makes something that's that tough?
