Pop-up sushi experience at "Flintstones House" shut down by city

I remember when this house was on the market. It was constantly referred to as the "Flintstones House" but basically only on the basic construction of the buildings. But the new owner went all in and turned it into a real Flintstones house and made it available on Airbnb.

They were looking to host a pop up sushi event there, but the city of Hillsbrorough apparently stopped it with a bunch of warnings. The sushi was going to be from a company with a catering permit, but serving it like a restaurant in a residential property might have been another matter.

It's a simple matter of that house being zoned in a residential area.

Having grown up in that general area since 1959 and seeing that house being built ('70s?), there must be "something" about it. It's had many, many owners over the years.

I think the novelty of living in a bubble house wears off quickly. And then there are all those gawkers.

Don't know how stoneage omasake is. I think the connection is that the co-founder is the son of the owner of that house. I think they're authorized to cater at private homes. Or at least that's what they claim.

I've had catered sushi before at a wedding reception. Not sure if that would require a different permit than to cater at private homes. The photos they show are clearly from this same house. They might have catered a private event at this house, but it would be different than charging per person like it's a restaurant. I'm sure the neighbors aren't too happy about it, although I would think they have a huge driveway on this property that can likely park over a dozen cars.

There's a parking bay with room for two cars right outside the property and the gated driveway could possibly accommodate six vehicles inside the gate. There's no street parking other than in sporadic parking bays along the road in this residential area. There is enough room to land a helicopter on the sloped lawn, though. Maybe people were uebering or the "restaurant" had a shuttle service similar to Shadowbrook.

Think of the overhead. We have to send hunting parties with our time machine to source the steaks. It's not going to be cheap either way! I think that's why they went with sushi.
