Poorboys is just cheap rebottled junk?

What's junk to you is treasure to me. Any polish can be made to dust by using too much product, wrong or unclean pad, improper speed, working the polish too long, heat, humidity, and many other factors. It is pointless to tell me that the stuff is junk when I make a good living with it. I learned how to use the product line and you did not, it's just that simple. In all honesty I could not care less what products you like or dislike. Use what suits you as will I.

I agree but it was not me. Go on a professional forum (not here) and it is NOT me. SSR when being used with a professional rotary, it will cause dust..No secret here.

My point again is you are not using a rotary with std speed; not gonna happen with a SSR line. Lower to 900 or raise to 1500 and use a foam pad or wool. It is like you are in Tx..Houston you would get like 2 extra seconds due to moisture. Sorry, been ther done that. When a 200+ detail job takes longer to clean dust etc; time is money. With SSR, you lose money. I do not like to bring time doing this into play, but 18 years. SSR loses along with most products they sell. Unless you are doing a cheap $100 detail.
I am just stating what I have found. Even FK is better then PB.

We can also disagree on the best products in certain applications but it is not fair to say PB SSR is junk. Many good polishes like Menzerna can dust but people like them for the end result.

You can get results. It depends on your needs. The Optimum system is different and people have called Optimum junk. With a DA, Optimum does not have the correction power like a rotary plus a long work time (not good for time conscious people)as other polishes but I would not call it junk because of that.

Industry giant, perhaps, but we're still family owned.

Actually, we have 4 chemists on staff.

And yes, when I say "we" I mean that I work for Meguiar's.

As for the title of this thread: Poorboys is just cheap rebottled junk? I can't say for sure if PB is in fact relabeled Chemical Guys products or not, but even if they are it doesn't make it junk. CG makes some darn good stuff and PB has an excellent reputation.

To me the "junk" is the latest/greatest new wonder product that hits the store shelves every year, only to disappear rather quickly after everyone figures out the wild claims were just that. A certain line of products named for frozen water comes to mind. Sales tracking indicates a major slump now that this stuff has been out for a while. Everyone is looking for that wonder product that will take their car from junkyard beater to Pebble Beach Best of Show with a simple wipe on/wipe off process. It doesn't exist.

I can't tell you how many people I've spoken to at car shows who swear their finish is flawless, regardless of what products they use, only to see the car in direct sun and, yep, the finish is far from flawless. Sometimes it's even horrible. And I'm talking extraordinarily rare and expensive vehicles too. Most people simply haven't been educated as to what they really should be looking for - not really their fault.

Ice is such a joke and at 17 bucks at walmart a high priced joke. Looks and feels just like a wiped armor all on my paint, in fact I think I've had better results doing just that.

Optimum does not have a long work time? Are you are crack? I can work it over 5 minutes if needed. PB SSR line maybe, maybe 45 seconds.

If a product causes more work, non-needed causes, poor results etc it is junk in my eyes. For me, you could not give me 95% of PB products for free. Sorry, been there and done that.

I was saying it does have a long work time which is why many DA users do not use it. Optimum works better for rotary users. It has its advantages but DA users tend to like other polishes.

A production detailer (get er done fast) has different needs than a home or DA users. PB can do the job. I am just saying it is not junk but not for you for what you want.

Many products are process related so some have better luck than others. This is why two people can totally disagree and both be right.

feel free to send me your poorboy's stuff and I'll take chemical guys too. If you have used poorboy's and hated it then you are doing something wrong.
I prefer poorboys labelling over anything else because it is simple and straight to the point: wax, it says wax! sealant = sealant, combination of sealant and wax it says so, and every other manufacturer should follow poorboys labelling for polish: 1, 2, 2.5, 3 instead of some fancy name that in no way relates to the cutting ability of the polish and you have to decipher it from the marketing b.s. on the bottle.
for some reason this topic makes me think of vince, shamWOW, you know the germans always make good stuff
