I had messaged Yvan Lecroix a few times in the past, just to chat. About a week and a half ago, he messaged me asking what email I'd used to order products (my cynical self was screaming "SCAM," but I gave it anyway). He said he needed to confirm something. That they were giving a random purchaser a free gift. I 'LOLed' him and didn't think anymore about it.

About a week ago, he messaged me again, asking if I had received my free gift. I said: "I wasn't expecting one." Then he told me that *I* was the winner of the drawing and asked for my mailing address, and that I had an option of prizes, so I told him my preference ("SCAM" was echoing through my head, but again, I gave him my address). So I went to their FaceBook page and made a post about how I was apparently a contest winner. The FIRST response came from their head of customer service, who said Yvan had just contacted him and he was getting the item ready to ship, the Yvan responded and said the gift would be included with the products I had ordered.

A few days later, I get emails from DIY and UPS about the delivery date ... BOTH emails had an updated order list, which INCLUDED the free gift - marked as NO CHARGE.

Friday rolls around and I receive TWO packages from DIY DETAIL ... one with the products I had ordered and another, large box with the gift.

So it WAS true ...

What was the free gift? A $400 cordless 25mm stroke DA polisher!!!!!

Now I'm frustrated, because Ohio weather has gotten Bi-polar again and it's too cold to detail

And.....it'll never get warm again?

Serioso: CONGRATS.
All told, I won a record album from a radio station (the YES reunion album "Going for the One", IIRC).
Oh yeah, I forgot, at a dance I won a bunch of cheap strawberry hard candies arranged as an odd pineapple.
I gave that to a guy who caretakes a church. He put it on the choir's rehearsal piano to great reception.

You did better.
