Well, I've asked G-MAN to go back to the Black reply box so I can test out Graphite.

Graphite changed my nice pretty blue scroll bar to gray; that sucks!

No! I was using the blue! Now I'm getting all confused. Maybe it's the 10.3.9 that's my problem.

I am always using the blue scheme. I never had your problem. Not with any earlier OS X or with OS 9. If I had advice, I'd give it to you. Why don't you got to a Mac store and pick the resident egghead's brain?

Really? Now this whole fiasco is getting very strange; I'm at a total loss.

I just started up my old iMac (now running only OS 9.2.2) and logged into BITOG. Using iCab as browser, getting in, switching to the Dark scheme and going to this thread took me merely 10 minutes. ARRRGH! There is no issue with the black cursor because the reply box has a white background. Apparently my Mac is clever enough to realize when background color and cursor color are identical. Excuse the fuzzy image quality and the off-color (violet cursor is due to color fringing -- it's actually black), but this is what I see in OS 9 when using the Dark scheme:

Now, on my new Mac which runs on OS X (10.4.11), the reply box is black with the cursor appearing white. If someone were to set the background color to grey, then I might be able to see if my cursor is in fact black and white.

mori, G-MAN is temporarily running two dark themes right now: UBB threads Dark (the original dark theme) and a new BITOG-Dark ( a special designed theme for people whom are white line impaired).

Which one did you try on your old Mac?

Update: Switching over to the Graphite setting has had no effect on changing my cursor from a black line to a white line in the UBB threads original dark theme. If G-MAN decides to keep the original dark theme, I'm screwed unless I upgrade to a new MacBook Pro with a newer operating system; which is something I need to eventually do anyway.

UBB threads Dark and the new BITOG-Dark theme have both a reply box with a white background and black cursor in OS 9.

The forum has been agonizingly slow much of the past couple days. Nothing a server upgrade won't fix.

The smilies are now gone. Instead I see font color and font size options. Well done. I'll post my own [censored] smilies.

For now I'm using the dark theme with the light reply box; it's working out quite well so far.

mori, what kind of Mac hardware are you using anyway?

I'm using the UBB Threads-Dark, but lose sight of my pointer while posting. The BITOG-Dark cured this phenomena, but the bright-white quick reply box at the bottom of each page, ruined the whole dark effect for me.
