Yeah I dont know if I would blame the oil on that one.
 
Used Valvoline conventional for years--actually no problems; but recently bought Quaker State Conventional on sale. Vehicles run well with it also... Purchased it cause it was cheaper and recommended. Using Quaker State Ultimate Durability also instead of M1--once again cheaper!! and vehicle running well.Never had a vehicle falter because of the oil that was used.So as long as the QS has good recomendations and good specs. and is cheaper I will continue to use it. Lots of good oil out there--I happen to like QS right now!!!!

^Valvoline because it smells nicer!

Either one is fine. The only difference I have noticed, is the valvetrain is quieter when using Quaker State Conventional vs Valvoline conventional, and I have used both in my current vehicle 2 times each. IMO these are great 5K oils.
