You guys will be proud of me for not recommending HF tools as I feel pliers aren't a 1 time use kind of thing. I actually had an HF set that broke on me while I was at a junkyard last month. I cut up my hand pretty bad. I bought cheap about 2 years ago just as an expendable set, but as you can see, it didn't pay off.

My work station has 3 KNIPEX pliers that I really like. They seem to run about $20-$30 a pair, but they are of excellent quality. I prefer the pairs with the fat handles. Very comfortable to use when trying to tightly hold onto something. German made is up there with US made IMO.

Where did I say that? I am a realist tho.

And it is what it is.

The fact of the matter is very little steel comes from U.S. manufactures, and even less steel comes in the form that tool manufactures use.

I rarely ever use regular pliers . But when I do it`s mostly a needle nose or vise grips.

Fact of the matter is, they aren't keeping their doors open by not having bunches of retail sales. After all they only sell is tools. Just because you do not like them, doesn't mean they fill a point for others. But I realize that's hard to understand.

So tell us just how much their sales have gone up, or their stock for than matter.

Professional mechanics, machinist, contractors, and other tradesmen are not buying their bread and butter tools from Horror Freight. I don't know how much simpler you need it.
HF is not making a dent in sales of this class of tool.

The other thing is if you want to support the friggin Chicoms that are stealing this country blind with your money when there are good alternatives that don't cost the world that's another story.

So where's the numbers?

They are only importing and selling what we buy, just as you do with your electronics. LOL

And which electronics would they be? Do you know where my Fujitsu, Panasonic Toughbook, Metz TV and Bang stereo were made? Hint none were made in China.

The only non China made electronics I have are my Playstation 3 and my Sega Dreamcast. That old girl was the bee's knees back in 1998!

Another good company gone to the Chicoms, no one is safe from them. Some larger JVC TV's sold in Europe are made in Turkey. Its going to be hard to find a good TV soon.
Building TV's, making clothing and shoes, power tools, etc are all low end assembly jobs we don't need because everyone is going to have a college degree and we wont need this low end work.

Yep, now they are PO'd because McDonald's doesn't pay a living wage.

I had to look them up- turns out they make the pliers that I use. I bought them from one of our aftermarket ag parts suppliers (private label) and they ROCK! I will never use another pair.

The Masses at GJ seem to love some Knipex. They look nice, but like Reggaemon, they're fiercely made in Pennsylvania and look of quality, grip, resist rust....

I ended up getting a set of used (but like new) Craftsman USA pliers.
